Silent Sentinel, a growing Motorola Solutions company, specializes in surveillance equipment; most notably long range surveillance for border protection. The products are typically aimed at public safety, and commit to Motorola Solution’s ‘Solving for Safer’ campaign. The engineering department is responsible for the development of products in multiple disciplines, namely electronics, firmware, software and mechanics. It must carry out the development life-cycle, which includes designing and testing products before handing over to production with relevant documentation. The team is agile, and tends to work on multiple parallel projects to suit the demands of the sector. It therefore requires members who will thrive in such a quick-paced environment.

  • Collaboration: Work cross functionally with mechanical, firmware, software, and systems engineering teams.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Testing & Validation: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans (functional, environmental, stress) to ensure products meet performance specifications, reliability standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous design documentation, specifications, test reports, and Bills of Material (BOMs) using product lifecycle management software.
  • Design for Manufacturing: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless transition of designs to production.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and system-level issues during development, manufacturing, and field deployment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or any related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing high speed digital, power supplies, motion control systems,  or related electronic circuits.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects from concept to production.
  • Strong understanding of electrical design principles, including schematic design, circuit analysis, and power electronics.
  • Experience with camera technologies and/or motion control systems is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design tools (e.g., SPICE, PSpice, Altium Designer) and test equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information to stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
