The Senior Director of People Insights and Analytics is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping and leading the enterprise-wide strategy for people analytics at DaVita. This leader will set the vision for how DaVita leverages data to manage its most valuable asset—our teammates. This role assumes full leadership of the People Insights and Analytics function, guiding a team of ambitious, analytical leaders to solve the most critical business questions through data-driven insights.

 

As a key partner to senior and executive leadership, the Senior Director will lead a rigorous, hypothesis-based approach for all people-related matters. They will own the department's culture, develop high-performing teammates and leaders, and deliver persuasive, actionable recommendations that influence enterprise-level strategy and create significant value for the Village.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities reflect the expectations of this position. They are not intended to be all-inclusive.

 

Strategic Leadership & Accountability

  • Enterprise Vision: Develop and own mid to long-term strategy for the People Insights and Analytics department, ensuring it aligns with and influences broader enterprise goals. Actively create impact beyond the direct department by influencing the people strategy for the organization.

  • Ownership & Value Creation: Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives, focusing on priorities that drive the most value for the Village. Place smart bets on innovative analytics projects that have the potential for high-impact returns.

  • Data Governance & Integrity: Assume ultimate ownership of people data reporting, integrity, and processing across all platforms (e.g., Workday, Visier, Anaplan), establishing the direction for the department.

  • Culture & Belonging: Own the culture of the department, ensuring a culture of belonging where teammates can challenge decisions and contribute to how work gets done. Develop and implement leadership routines that build teammate engagement with DaVita's mission and core values.

  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of managers and professionals, fostering an environment of trust, learning, and multi-directional feedback. Continuously monitor the performance and leadership capability of the team, adjusting your leadership approach as needed.

 

Develop Self & Others

  • Build High-Performing Teams: Attract, retain, and develop top analytics talent across lanes. Actively manage the performance of the department and teach managers how to effectively coach their teams for growth and high performance.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry trends in people analytics, machine learning, and data science to expand the team's leadership skills and technical capabilities.

 

Influence & Communication

  • Executive Influence: Deliver persuasive, data-driven recommendations to senior and executive audiences, engaging in productive debate to drive decisions.

  • Strategic Storytelling: Communicate complex ideas, analyses, and concepts with simplicity and clarity, framing messages to gain buy-in and commitment from cross-functional partners and leaders.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., economics, mathematics, engineering, finance, etc.).

  • 10+ years of professional experience in an analytics or quantitative field, with a strong track record of progressive leadership responsibilities.

  • Expert-level proficiency in translating complex data into stories for executive-level presentations.

  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing managers and building high-performing analytics teams.

  • Proven ability to work with senior leaders to accomplish enterprise-level goals.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other graduate-level degree.

  • Management consulting experience.

  • Expertise in data management (e.g., SQL, Workday) and statistical or machine learning programming (e.g., R, Python).

  • Experience leading a people analytics or HR analytics function.

The Salary Range for the role is $129,000.00 - $205,000.00 per year.
