Position Overview

Sr. Director, Comm Marketing, PTX Selection & MRD will be responsible for leading and implementing strategic growth initiatives across the Precision Oncology (PO) Commercial team and will have product strategy and marketing execution responsibilities. This individual will be responsible for setting the product portfolio vision, leading the commercialization strategy for the Therapy Selection/MRD products across multiple customer and tumor types, and for setting clear product performance metrics.  This leadership position will also drive the long-term strategic development of new products as well as establish the 18-month commercial strategy and execution plans.

This role will be responsible for leading a marketing team responsible for defining product positioning and messaging, targeting and segmentation, and establishing an omnichannel marketing plan and promotional mix to include sales force tactics and tools, patient promotion opportunities, and initiatives utilizing the digital ecosystem.

Sr. Director, Comm Marketing, PTX Selection & MRD must have the ability to develop a strategic narrative that creates a compelling and relevant story around the clinical value and utilization of the PO product portfolio.  This role will provide the commercial perspective and voice of customer (VOC) and be a member of the portfolio development team.  This individual needs to have a strong understanding of the market dynamics, competitive landscape, and future genomics and ctDNA trends across multiple tumor and patient types.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Analyze and incorporate key market and clinical trends, customer needs and segmentation, disease state insights, and competitive offerings for the development of the product’s commercialization strategy.
  • Develop product and portfolio positioning, messaging, and brand marketing campaigns for pan-cancer panels.
  • Create clear, effective, and integrated strategies, plans, and tactics for product launches including, but not limited to, market access planning, publication planning, content development, market development, customer engagement, customer experience, and lead generation.
  • Ensure comprehensive training of sales and managed care teams to train on positioning, key data/messages, competitive strategies/positioning, promotional tools, and programs.
  • Develop and manage commercial marketing budget for product lines in portfolio; ensure financial targets are accurately maintained.
  • Liaise directly and manage the relationships with various external groups to include current or prospective service vendors, advertising/creative agencies, medical communications, and societies/organizations.
  • Establish a clear and aligned communication plan that leverages the publications and timing to align for subsequent materials and direction for field sales.
  • Cultivate and grow a core group of thought leaders and drive participation in advisory boards and speaker development programs.
  • Serve as the marketing lead for the review and approval of promotional materials for therapy selection sequencing panels.
  • Ensure vision, strategy, and organizational decisions are understood; delegate to other functions to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Maintain professional, engaging, and patient focused communications with all internal and external audiences. 
  • Share ideas and be receptive to new ideas when collaborating within and across departments. 
  • Clear barriers to team progress and resolve conflicts within the team and outside the team.
  • Supervise staff; including, but not limited to, organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance.
  • Communicate goals clearly to employees to ensure understanding and success in achieving them.
  • Motivate and inspire employees to do their best work through coaching.
  • Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ability to present a variety of material in front of diverse audiences, from all company meetings to field sales meetings, trade shows, executive meetings, board meetings, and customer settings. 
  • Apply a clear and directive style that will engage and inspire a broad set of teams to win cohesively and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence in a matrix organization.
  • Apply deep customer orientation and broad strategic thinking.
  • Apply a sense of ownership in driving marketing initiatives for product lines assigned to achieve desired commercial targets.
  • Strong analytic skills with scientific papers and market intelligence, with the ability to simplify and translate complex scientific data into a clear and compelling commercial strategy.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate complex personnel issues, schedules, travel, and logistical projects and programs.
  • Ability to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality.

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to travel 25% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, Marketing, or field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 10+ years of professional experience working in a team setting in the healthcare industry.
  • 8+ years of marketing experience in the diagnostic, biopharma, or medical device fields.
  • 7+ years of experience in a regulated environment, to include CLIA, FDA, CE, and IVDR.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical next-generation sequencing (NGS) marketing for oncology.
  • Demonstrated understanding of market development and commercial launches for new products.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully market products in a highly competitive market. 
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, Marketing, or field as outlined in the essential duties.

Salary Range:

$208,000.00 - $354,000.00

 

The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
