About the Role

This is an outstanding opportunity to lead the global sales strategy development and execution for the Commercial Biologicals and Chemicals Division at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. As the Sr Director, Commercial, you will drive revenue growth by coordinating efforts across various functions, including R&D, Operations, Customer Excellence, and Marketing. You'll work closely with the BioProduction commercial organization and play a key role in evolving our go-to-market strategy to compete in all market segments.

This role will be remote-based in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a comprehensive sales approach to accelerate growth across the division's global portfolio.
  • Set regional goals, develop sales metrics, and assess activities to meet annual targets and strategic objectives.
  • Develop yearly and quarterly financial plans and workforce projections for the commercial department.
  • Drive price attainment in close partnership with businesses.
  • Develop and implement strategies for expanding the customer base and growing new business opportunities ahead of the market.
  • Engage technically with customers and align their needs with our value proposition.
  • Attract, mentor, and retain commercial talent globally.
Preferred Background/Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or technical field or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Experience in global sales within life sciences; 10+ years of people management.
  • In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven leadership roles in developing and implementing global and enterprise-level sales plans.
  • Substantiated experience in recruiting, developing, and leading sales teams.
  • Proficient in long-range and sales planning.
  • Demonstrated capability to use CRM (Salesforce) to measure and manage activities, progress, and results.
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including presentation skills.
  • Collaborative, with a talent for building relationships and successfully achieving results in complex matrix organizations.
  • Talent management and people development skills, recognizing the value of diversity in constructing impactful teams.

Additional Preferred Attributes (Not Required)

  • Experience working in regulated environments.
  • International experience.
  • MBA or additional advanced degree.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $225,000.00–$325,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
