ACI’ers – in all roles and levels – are truly your colleagues and many are your friends. Our size and reach allow you to see the global impact of your work. Our ACI team represents a globally diverse, passionate, and dedicated group of thousands of individuals around the world who share a common commitment to making our customers successful by driving the future of payments. As Senior Product Director, In-Store & Omni-Commerce (Remote), you can help make possibilities happen.

Job Purpose

The Sr Product Director, In-Store & Omni-Commerce is a senior product strategy leader that is accountable for the vision, direction, and market success of ACI’s in-store and omni-channel payment offering for enterprise merchants. This role drives the strategic direction of the in-store/omni portfolio — in-person payments, unified commerce, and the convergence of physical and digital commerce experiences — and partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Partnerships to translate that strategy into market outcomes.

You will drive the product vision and multi-year strategy for ACI’s in-store and omni-commerce capabilities, shape the roadmap in partnership with Product Management and Engineering, and represent ACI externally with the world’s largest merchants, payment networks, acquirers, and technology partners. You’ll leverage ACI’s unique cross-ecosystem position — spanning banks, merchants, and billers — to drive product differentiation no single-channel competitor can match. Based in North America, you will be a key contributor to how ACI competes and differentiates in unified commerce — one of the most strategically important fronts in payments today

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Collaborate to define and drive the multi-year product vision and strategy for ACI’s in-store and omni-channel commerce portfolio, ensuring our offering is architected and positioned as a cohesive, differentiated unified commerce platform.

  • Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering leadership to translate strategic priorities into roadmap commitments, architectural decisions, and build / buy / partner choices.

  • Drive the convergence strategy between in-store and digital commerce — ensuring ACI keeps pace with how merchants and consumers actually experience omni-channel today.

  • Own customer discovery and Voice-of-Customer at the leadership level; translate enterprise merchant insights into clear product bets and differentiated capabilities.

  • Establish portfolio governance to evaluate new opportunities, rationalize investments, and sunset non-strategic offerings in alignment with strategic priorities.

Commercial Growth & Go-to-Market

  • Translate product strategy into compelling positioning, packaging, and pricing — partnering with Marketing and Commercial teams to ensure go-to-market reflects the differentiated value of the portfolio.

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Partnerships to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that drive merchant acquisition, attach, upsell, and retention across the in-store / omni portfolio.

  • Define value propositions, sales narratives, and competitive positioning for each merchant audience; enable the commercial organization with proof points and competitive intelligence.

Market Vision & Strategic Bets

  • Identify, size, and prioritize market opportunities across verticals next to experts in our teams (fuel & convenience, grocery, retail, hospitality, QSR), geographies, and merchant segments.

  • Evaluate and lead strategic partnerships, alliances, and M&A opportunities that accelerate ACI’s in-store and omni-commerce position.

  • Translate market intelligence on competitors and ecosystem players (acquirers, POS ISVs, terminal manufacturers, payment networks) into clear strategic theses and product bets.

Industry Engagement

  • Serve as the external face of ACI’s in-store and omni-commerce offering — engaging key enterprise merchants, strategic partners, industry analysts, and payment networks to shape market perception and unlock product opportunities.

  • Represent ACI in industry forums, conferences, and analyst briefings as a thought leader in omni-channel payments and unified commerce.

  • Contribute to company-wide strategy and product portfolio discussions; present to Board, executive, and major customer audiences.

Organizational Leadership

  • Lead and inspire a cross-functional team spanning product strategy, product management, and partner development within the in-store / omni unit.

  • Set a high-performance culture that prizes strategic thinking, intellectual curiosity, customer delight, and product craft.

  • Develop organizational capability and succession depth; actively mentor product and commercial leaders and shape the operating model as the business scales.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • 15+ years in payments, fintech, or commerce technology, with at least 7 years leading product strategy or product management at scale. Bachelor’s degree in business,or any related field.

  • Proven track record of defining product vision, owning multi-year roadmaps, and bringing products to market for a platform or portfolio in B2B payments or commerce technology.

  • Deep, demonstrated expertise in the in-store and omni-channel commerce landscape: in-store payment acceptance and the terminal / POS ecosystem (e.g., Verifone, Ingenico, PAX, NCR, Oracle, Toast), ISV and semi-integrated POS architectures, tokenization and network resilience, alternative payment methods, and unified commerce platforms.

  • Vertical fluency in at least one of fuel & convenience, grocery, QSR, hospitality, or large-format retail — including how merchants in that vertical run their store operations.

  • Strong customer discovery and Voice-of-Customer instincts at executive level — comfortable in the room with CIOs, CTOs, and Heads of Payments at enterprise merchants.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate market intelligence and competitive signals into product bets and clear build / buy / partner decisions.

  • Experience leading and developing senior product and cross-functional teams in a matrixed, global organization.

  • Executive presence with experience influencing at C-suite level, both internally and with major enterprise merchant clients.

  • Based in North America with willingness to travel for customer, partner, and industry engagements.

Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

  • MBA or advanced business degree strongly preferred.

  • Hands-on experience leading product managers.

  • Familiarity with SoftPOS / Tap-on-Phone, agentic commerce, AI-enabled checkout, and in-store experiences (BOPIS, scan-and-go, self-checkout, endless aisle).

  • Experience with merchant software, SaaS commerce platforms, payment orchestration, or B2B payments ecosystems.

  • Comfort with commercial models and business case development for product investments.

  • Background in corporate strategy, management consulting, or investment roles within payments, retail tech, or commerce.

  • Existing network within the merchant acquiring, payment network, POS, or enterprise retail ecosystem (especially fuel & convenience, grocery, or large-format retail).
