Summary
As a Sr. Database Administrator you will play a key role in designing and developing solutions to support data management, quality assurance, and data analytics initiatives within the Product Development and R&D group. You will work closely with Operations, Technology, and Risk groups across OneSource Virtual to facilitate new products and to help our business continue to grow rapidly.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and translate business requirements into database solutions. This includes developing data models, and designing or tuning data transformations for medium complexity use cases.
- Writing or tuning stored procedures to implement the business logic, along with enhancing & debugging the existing database code- with focus on automation, efficiency and error handling.
- Hands on experience in query performance and database tuning for SQL Server and MySQL Databases
- Working as a team member in the development process - analysis, design, development and testing as well as providing support.
- Ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision- exercising independent judgement, autonomy & proactivity.
- Provide in-depth analysis to identify current and future issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Work with on-premise and cloud hosted database solutions
Competencies
- Strong SQL Server and MySQL database creation, performance management, maintenance, and tuning skills
- Performance tuning expertise across stored procedures, logical and physical data model, and triggers
- SQL Tuning and experience mentoring software developers on tuning techniques
- Ability to work with software developers and testers to achieve goals efficiently
- Data transformation and environment setup
- Self-motivated to be part of a great team in a high growth company
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years experience as a SQL Server and/or MySQL DBA to enable handling large datasets.
- 3+ years hands-on experience with data modeling, database design and architecture.
- 5+ years SQL tuning and database performance tuning.
Preferred
- Experience with OLTP and Warehouse databases is highly preferred
