The Role

As a key member of the Performance Marketing team, this role owns the creative output that fuels Step's paid media channels, from first concept to final asset. You'll develop briefs and scripts, manage UGC and creator partnerships, produce video and static creative, and shape the creative strategy behind our acquisition campaigns. The ideal candidate is a hands-on creative doer who can move fluidly from ideation to execution, working cross-functionally and independently to build campaigns that drive real conversion.


What You’ll Do 

  • Lead the strategy, development, and creation of best-in-class ad creative and campaign assets across video, animation, static, and HTML5 for social, programmatic, CTV, affiliate, and more. The ability to edit video is a must
  • Translate product capabilities into clear, differentiated value propositions and deliver content briefs and scripts for ad campaigns
  • Own UGC video production end-to-end. Sourcing and managing influencers and creators, developing content briefs and scripts, project managing through delivery, and editing and cutting final assets for distribution
  • Design static display and banner ads across a full suite of sizes for social, programmatic, and affiliate channels, applying strong design fundamentals and adhering to platform-specific best practices
  • Identify, test, and iterate on new content formats and campaign approaches, designing structured experiments across messaging, format, and audience to continuously improve performance and scale what works
  • Analyze campaign and creative performance data to continuously refine messaging, formats, and distribution strategies, translating those insights into forward-looking creative recommendations
  • Monitor competitor creative tactics and industry trends, maintaining a pulse on what's working across fintech, consumer apps, and performance marketing to inform your own work
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, moving fluidly from conception to final deliverable while keeping stakeholders aligned and timelines on track
  • Be a voracious consumer of Gen Z culture and highlight trends that can help inform new and creative marketing and product ideas

What We’re Looking For 

  • 5+ years of experience in performance creative, digital advertising, or a comparable creative role. Ideally, at a consumer app, fintech, or growth-stage startup
  • Proven track record producing video, static, and motion ad creative that drives measurable results across paid social, programmatic, and other acquisition channels
  • A strategic and experimental mindset with an ability to leverage data and insights to brainstorm ideas, make decisions, and drive growth
  • A portfolio showcasing your work, process, and proficiency in delivering compelling creative ads and/or products
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other relevant design and video editing tools; familiarity with HTML5 or motion/animation tools is a plus
  • Experience sourcing and collaborating with UGC creators and influencers, from identifying and briefing talent to managing through delivery and editing final assets
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, able to work autonomously, and hungry to solve difficult problems
  • Team-oriented mindset and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals
