Position Summary
The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in the organization by supporting business analysis efforts within the Capital Markets and Investor Fulfillment department. Working with limited supervision, this role is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, validating, specifying, and managing business and technical requirements for medium to complex initiatives. The Senior Business Analyst acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and the Information Systems development team, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and effectively translated into technical solutions.
Compensation
This role is an exempt position with a Targeted Salary Range of $94,000 - $120,000 annually.
Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location.
Essential Functions
- Identify project stakeholders and define project scope.
- Gather and validate requirements through interviews, document review, and other elicitation methods.
- Develop clear and concise requirement specifications, business rules, and supporting documentation using standard templates.
- Define functional and non-functional requirements, including quality attributes and constraints.
- Translate high-level business needs into detailed requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Document system changes using concise narratives, diagrams, process flows, and other visual modeling tools.
- Create current- and future-state process documentation and conduct gap analysis to support business justification and prioritization.
- Develop and execute effective testing strategies to validate system changes and assess cross-functional impacts.
- Lead discovery, design, and review sessions to ensure accurate interpretation of requirements.
- Champion and continuously improve requirements practices, processes, and tools.
- Mentor and support team members, promoting product mindset, collaboration, and process efficiency.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree directly related to the position or equivalent, preferred.
- Minimum five years' total relevant experience in Business or Mortgage Lending and/or Consumer Lending Technology related role(s). Experience in Capital Markets is highly required.
- Strong understanding of mortgage pricing, including rate sheets, margin management, secondary execution, and risk-based pricing.
- Experience working with XML, preferably including MISMO, UCD, ULDD, and/or PDD datasets.
- Solid knowledge of APIs, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements, document API functionality, and collaborate with development teams on API design.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall/Hybrid SDLC methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex workflows and support process improvements.
- Experience with business process improvement or automation initiatives is a plus.
- Ability to create visual models such as process flows, diagrams, or other structured representations of requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Skilled in conducting interviews, facilitating discussions, and gathering/documenting business requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.
Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
Audio/Visual: Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio, e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.
Environmental: Office environment – moderate noise, no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
Mental: This role requires effective adaptation to workplace stressors, including customer service complaints, security responsibilities, and competing priorities. Must be able to adhere to process protocol. Must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.
Schedules: Work is primarily performed during the business week, Monday - Friday.
