Role Overview:

The Sr. Branded Products Portfolio Manager provides leadership to specific areas within the Turf & Ornamental product line (Golf, Turf/Landscape, Nursery/Greenhouse, Vegetation Management), including the identification of marketing needs, pricing, strategy implementation, and assistance with the creation of marketing support materials to enhance growth and profitability. This position also has responsibility for financial analyses and performance metrics to assist in managing product lines and inventories.   

A Sample of What You’ll Do in this Role:

  • Identify key external and internal stakeholders and work with them to develop business and marketing strategies. 
  • Lead the branding of Wilbur-Ellis’s products, coordinating sales training, information sharing, and data development as needed to support marketing strategies. 
  • Collaborate around idea initiation, product formulation, registration, sourcing, packaging, promotion, education, etc. to introduce new branded products. 
  • Effectively manage the product life cycle for the portfolio. 
  • Provide pricing guidance and market intelligence to the field sales team. 
  • Maintain and build relationships with key suppliers. 
  • Aid in the identification of new product opportunities and new market access points. 

What You Bring to this Role:

  • Deep understanding of Turf & Ornamental industry practices, including extensive market knowledge in one or more of: Golf, Turf/Landscape, Nursery/Greenhouse, Vegetation Management, and other non-agricultural commercial markets
  • Experience in developing successful marketing programs and collateral materials 
  • Ability to develop strategic plans and provide direction to meet short and long-term goals 
  • Expertise in growing sales and profitability for plant nutrition, synthetic and biological products, as well as adjuvant product lines 
  • Technical agronomic knowledge, preferably in specialty plant nutrition, organic and/or biological products in a wide range of professional use markets
  • Strong ability to support tactical marketing needs and oversee all phases of direct project launches 
  • Demonstrated skills in coordinating field input into the business planning and execution process 
  • Experience and proficiency in analyzing product information, R&D data, and market information 
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%

Compensation and Benefits:

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $152,600 - $213,830. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.   
  • This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
