The Need

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking Sr. Associate, Strategic Partnerships.

The Sr. Associate provides critical coordination and operational support to Strategic Partnerships Directors (SPDs) through seamless coordination and operational excellence. This position helps SPDs deliver exceptional engagement and experiences to major donors, contributing to the fundraising efforts that protect people in poverty from violence. The Sr. Associate maintains data integrity across core systems, drives process improvements within the Strategic Partnerships team, and manages key projects that enhance team effectiveness and donor engagement.

This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to Head of Strategic Partnerships Operations and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.

Responsibilities:

Operational and Coordination Support:

  • Provide coordination support to approximately four Strategic Partnerships Directors.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to compile necessary information for SPD responses to donor requests and inquiries.

  • Monitor activities into IJM’s inbound service from major donors and escalate accordingly.

  • Coordinate and manage logistics for donor-related actions – includes written correspondences, in-person/virtual meetings – with IJM Leadership and staff.

  • Serve as host for Global Survivor Network (GSN) members during donor visits and events.

  • Schedule and coordinate internal meetings and onboarding sessions on behalf of the SPD.

  • Modify donor-facing material for SPD to deliver to their respective donor(s).

  • Manage coordination and logistics of SPD’s shipping requests.

  • Make targeted adjustments to basic reporting tools to address SPD business questions and enable data-driven decision making.

Data Management:

  • Ensure data accuracy by incorporating SPD insights into Salesforce.

  • Manage updates to donor contact information, categorical tags, gifts, notes, and actions.

  • Handle the creation of accounts, contacts, campaigns, and select opportunities and activities.

  • Resolve data quality issues, including duplicate records and parent/child account structures.

Process Improvement and Team Support:

  • Assist in developing and implementing team processes to improve team efficiency, donor engagement, scalability, and/or revenue growth.

  • Assist in the development of onboarding materials.  

Project and Program Management:

  • Facilitate project team meetings, including communications of decisions, action items, and ensuring follow-up.

  • Develop project planning materials to show how goals will be achieve via actionable strategies & plans.

  • Prepare and help facilitate stakeholder briefings. Stakeholders may include internal IJM Leadership, IJM Program staff, and constituents.

  • Schedule all project-related meetings, including meetings with donors and external contractors, as needed.

  • Manage budget and approve expenses, if necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-3 years professional work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • High proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite

  • Salesforce experience preferred
