Hi there!
Zapier is hiring a Talent Acquisition AI Automation Lead to supercharge our recruiting engine. In this role, you’ll work hand-in-hand with the TA Talent Strategy & Operations team to drive key sourcing automation projects that modernize how we identify and engage talent. You’ll turn sourcer and recruiter pain points into scalable solutions and pilot AI-driven workflows that make hiring faster, smarter, and more inclusive.
If you love building automations and reducing team pain points with AI-first processes, this is the job for you. You’re passionate about designing AI-driven workflows and leveraging Zapier’s own automation engine to eliminate friction, boost recruiter effectiveness, and create more space for meaningful candidate connections. Reporting to Zapier’s Sr. Manager, Talent Strategy & Operations, you’ll serve as a valued partner within our Talent Acquisition Team. You’ll also collaborate closely with stakeholders across the People Team to create scalable systems, automate existing processes, and help hiring teams work more efficiently.

You’re operationally fluent in talent acquisition. You bring 5+ years of experience in recruiting operations, sourcing, HR tech, or a related field. You’ve managed ATS systems (we use Ashby), rolled out tools with smooth implementation and enablement, and built processes that help teams work smarter.
You think like a builder. You design processes and automations that change how work gets done. You translate recruiter needs into workflows, experiment with new tools, and iterate quickly for impact.
You’re skilled in AI and automation. You explore modern AI tools and know how to apply them in recruiting. You use Zapier’s AI orchestration platform or a similar solution to streamline workflows and eliminate friction.
You care about quality and clarity. You design processes that are compliant, scalable, and easy for users to adopt. You communicate clearly, document thoroughly, and build trust across technical and non-technical teams.
You build for scale and enablement. You create sourcing enablement practices that make finding and engaging candidates easier and more equitable. You design systems and training that give recruiters and hiring teams confidence in new tools.
You value collaboration and influence. You work well with leaders, peers, and partners. You take ownership of solving problems, share knowledge openly, and can raise the bar for recruiting operations at Zapier.
You're adaptable. You've been in fast-growing companies and possess the expertise to build, evolve, and adapt to a company's changing needs as it grows. You roll up your sleeves and do the little things if that's what the team needs.
Zapier is a small, fast-growing, and remote company, so you'll experience a variety of projects across the organization. In this role, you’ll help modernize how we source and hire in an AI-assisted world, leading improvements to our sourcing processes and providing recruiters with better insights, tools, and automation to find and engage great talent globally. You’ll contribute to builds, lead experiments, and drive adoption of automation across the recruiting lifecycle, ultimately paving the way for Zapier’s Talent team to serve as a model for other Talent Acquisition teams and customers.
That said, here are some things you'll do:
Pilot and refine AI-enabled sourcing workflows by bringing innovative approaches that empower recruiters to discover and engage talent more effectively in the AI era.
Drive sourcing enablement and recruiter efficiency by optimizing existing workflows across Ashby, Brighthire, Zapier, and other tools, and by building lightweight automations to remove friction from day-to-day recruiting.
Build and scale recruiting automations across sourcing, interviewing, offers, and onboarding—measuring ROI and deciding when to expand or sunset.
Design and implement enablement programs that enhance recruiter excellence, strengthen hiring manager effectiveness, and ensure adoption of new processes.
Use data to guide decisions, tracking impact, hours saved, adoption, and overall efficiency.
Partner with leadership on executing established TA initiatives like promotions, talent brand operations, and vendor management—always staying ahead of industry trends.
Drive cross-functional projects from concept to launch, ensuring compliance, smooth integrations, and adoption across recruiters, sourcers, and hiring teams.
Roll up your sleeves to ship automations directly, whether in Zapier, Ashby, ChatGPT, or other tools.
At Zapier, we believe that diverse perspectives and experiences make us better, which is why we have a non-standard application process designed to promote inclusion and equity. We're looking for the best fit for each of our roles, regardless of the type of companies in your background, so we encourage you to apply even if your skills and experiences don’t exactly match the job description. All we ask is that you answer a few in-depth questions in our application that would typically be asked at the start of an interview process. This helps speed things up by letting us get to know you and your skillset a bit better right out of the gate. Please be sure to answer each question; the resume and CV fields are optional.
Education is not a requirement for our roles; however, if you receive an offer, you will need to include your most recent educational experience as part of our background check process.
After you apply, you are going to hear back from us—even if we don’t see an immediate fit with our team. In fact, throughout the process, we strive to never go more than seven days without letting you know the status of your application. We know we’ll make mistakes from time to time, so if you ever have questions about where you stand or about the process, just ask your recruiter!
