Role: Sr. Analyst, Strategic Sourcing

Profile

The Sr. Analyst ensures that products, services and supplier relationships are in the best interest of the Davita. This position will support the Indirect Sourcing Lane for Facilities. The Sr. Analyst is responsible for the evaluation of suppliers and contracts including the Requests for Quotes (RFQ), Request for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Information (RFI). This position works under minimal supervision on complex assignments that require considerable independent discretion and judgement. This project-based role requires research, data mining skills, commercial negotiation skills, and evaluation of goods and/or services. The Sr. Analyst will make recommendations, including supplier selections, based on their research and is expected to provide support when in negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with internal business partners to facilitate Request for Proposals, Request for Quotes and Invitations to Bid. Future state, the Sr. Analyst may interface with eSourcing tool and enter relevant data into system for corresponding and evaluating suppliers.
  • Will ensure that the Legal department reviews all contracts and fully executed agreements are deposited into the Contract Management System.
  • Conceive, Develop and Deliver techniques, practices, and procedures for contract administration in a manner that protects Davita’s interests.
  • Facilitates delivery of all relevant contract documentation including pricing and other key terms to the procurement systems team to enable purchasing.
  • Independently works on large sourcing/purchasing projects with a high level of discretion and independence, demonstrating ownership of the projects.
  • Maintains all documentation on all procedures including final contracting commercial terms, final supplier quotes, contact information and RFP/ RFI documentation.
  • Partners with the Sourcing/Category Managers in data gathering, stakeholders discussions, contract support and sourcing strategies.
  • Assists Sourcing/Category Managers in evaluating supplier performance as applicable.
  • Has the skills to perform the Sourcing/Category Manager’s roles if needed to support the Procurement team.
  • Researches relevant market, suppliers and technologies and makes recommendations to internal customers based on analysis.
  • Correspond with suppliers including gathering supplier data, proposals and creating templates to gather relevant information from suppliers to facilitate evaluation.
  • Has proficiency in using various sourcing platforms previously i.e. Coupa, Ariba, GEP (preferred, not required)

Skills

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills when partnering with the Davita teammates at all levels of the organization. Will also work with suppliers to negotiate without damaging relationships but rather work in a spirit of partnership by utilizing the skills of persuasion and influence.
  • Must have strong Communications Skills, both oral and written, and participate and/or lead RFP related meetings. Should also have excellent active listening skills.
  • Financial acumen to interpret financial results, statements and forecasts and understand risks arising from contract terms.
  • Must work well across functions and contribute beyond individual responsibilities to achieve team goals. Encourage collaboration and help build consensus to improve analysis and decision-making.
  • Must manage the selection and evaluation of preferred suppliers including documenting the selection process, evaluating and comparing supplier quotes, bids and information, and making a recommendation based on the findings. Will present these findings in presentations and provide supporting documentation.
  • Written communication is important since they will need to be able to create professional documents for suppliers and internal customers. They will need to be thorough and detail-oriented when evaluating bids for pricing and specifications.
  • Should demonstrate the desire to continually learn and evolve.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible to market changes, bringing an innovation mindset to the items they are responsible for by leveraging relationships with internal customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities in spend strategies, product demands and sourcing / purchasing timelines.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4-6 years of business experience required. 2-4 years of facility related procurement experience preferred. Waste Disposal and Sustainability knowledge a plus.
  • Experience facilitating Requests for Proposals, Request for Quotes and Invitations to Bid.
  • Must have a general working knowledge of Indirect procurement categories.
  • Ability to manage multiple RFPs / RFIs at any given time.
  • Excellent Skills in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, Coupa and other eSourcing platforms - preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Powerpoint.
  • Should possess desire to succeed and willingness to advance.

Salary/ Wage Range

$56,500.00 - $100,000.00 / year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
