The opportunity

The Business and Corporate Development Associate will play a pivotal role in Magic Leap's growth strategy, blending strategic thinking with rigorous execution. In this role, you will help manage critical partnership initiatives from opportunity assessment through execution and integration. You will oversee cross-functional workflows, timelines, and key deliverables, ensuring strategic partnerships are not only identified and evaluated, but also effectively operationalized.

You’ll be responsible for conducting in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and financial modeling to identify strategic partnership opportunities. Just as importantly, you will serve as a program manager for partnership workstreams, collaborating with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Finance to keep projects on track, resolve blockers, and deliver outcomes that drive Magic Leap’s roadmap forward. This is an exciting opportunity to apply analytical, strategic, and operational skills at the forefront of AR technology.

What you’ll do

  • Strategic Partnership Evaluation (Product-Enabling Focus): Identify and assess potential product-enabling partners (e.g., component suppliers, software developers, content creators, platform providers) that align with Magic Leap’s roadmap. Lead the evaluation and prioritization of opportunities based on strategic fit, feasibility, and impact.
  • Project and Stakeholder Management: Drive partnership-related projects by managing timelines, aligning stakeholders, tracking dependencies, and ensuring deliverables are met. Coordinate activities across Product, Engineering, Legal, Marketing, and Finance to ensure partnerships are executed and integrated smoothly.
  • Due Diligence Support: Organize and track diligence efforts for potential partners. Coordinate inputs from internal stakeholders and manage information flows to ensure comprehensive analysis and risk assessment.
  • Business Case Development: Prepare well-structured business cases and leadership-ready presentations outlining strategic rationale, market positioning, financial implications, and go-forward plans.
  • Deal Support and Execution: Support the structuring, negotiation, and execution of agreements. Partner closely with Legal and Finance to manage documentation, deal terms, and internal approvals.
  • Pipeline and Workflow Management: Maintain a centralized, up-to-date partnership pipeline. Own project tracking and reporting, including KPIs and milestones. Use tools and trackers to drive visibility and accountability across initiatives.
  • Financial Modeling and Valuation: Develop and maintain financial models that assess potential deals, including revenue forecasts, cost impacts, ROI analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Market and Competitive Intelligence: Conduct deep dives on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics. Translate insights into actionable recommendations for where and how Magic Leap should engage.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis and Support: Provide timely analytical support on high-priority initiatives. Develop clear, data-backed insights to inform strategic decisions.

The experience you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in business development, corporate development, or technical program/project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects and track multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis (Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong sense of ownership, with the ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and move projects forward.
  • Passion for emerging technologies, particularly augmented reality and spatial computing.
  • Proven collaboration and relationship-building skills across diverse teams.

It’s exciting if you also have

  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Familiarity with intellectual property and licensing concepts.
  • Understanding of the AR/VR/XR ecosystem and industry trends.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies or formal project management frameworks.
