Job Summary:
The Standard seeks a talented, experienced actuary with strong actuarial modeling expertise to join our IDI Modeling team. You will be involved in developing and maintaining modeling solutions in support of company initiatives. You will leverage your skillful relationship management as you partner with key internal stakeholders and product line leaders. You’ll be involved in evaluating and implementing new approaches and processes for our modeling effort as we challenge ourselves to further our modeling approaches, enhancing the company’s understanding of risk.
Areas of focus will include:
- Provide subject matter expertise in the development, analysis, and model change management of models used in analyzing ALM, JFSA, Cash Flow Testing, Economic Capital, Risk Management, etc.
- Identify, test, and analyze model enhancements for our various model use cases.
- Partner with business unit actuaries and IT on model development projects.
- Be the key person for other new model/process onboarding plans.
- Ensure projection models are timely and accurate, meeting the necessary controls.
- Communicate projection model results to management to assist and influence corporate and divisional financial strategies.
- Support our Actuarial Transformation initiative ensuring successful implementation of improved procedures and processes including our model orchestration platform.
Skills and Background You’ll Need:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in mathematics, actuarial science, business, or a related field preferred.
Certification:
- FSA required
Experience:
- Significant prior experience sufficient to have gained a seasoned actuarial business perspective required. (5+ yrs. preferred)
- Experience with GGY AXIS is required.
- Individual Disability or LTC experience required.
- Projection and Valuation modeling experience (CFT, STAT, LDTI) (strongly preferred).
- Experience with newer development and workflow/collaboration software preferred: Python, Databricks or other cloud software, Power BI, Confluence, JIRA.

Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.
Salary Range:
$133,750.00 - $195,750.00Positions will be posted for at least 5 days from original posting date.
