About the role
As a Senior Accounting Specialist at Uplinq, you’ll serve as the accounting lead for a portfolio of complex clients. You’ll handle advanced accounting tasks, build and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), and serve as a quality reviewer and mentor for junior Accounting Specialists. This role requires strong technical skills, judgment, and the ability to lead client conversations confidently.
What you'll do
- Own month-end close and financial reporting for complex client accounts using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Uplinq’s proprietary accounting system.
- Prepare and document advanced journal entries.
- Handle job costing, inventory tracking, and class/location-based reporting as needed.
- Manage and troubleshoot third-party integrations.
- Build and maintain client-specific SOPs, documentation, and QBO workflows.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients—leading calls, owning relationships, and resolving escalations.
- Review junior team members’ work and provide clear, constructive feedback.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of small business or firm-based accounting experience
- Advanced Knowledge in QuickBooks Online
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accrual accounting and GAAP principles
- Experience with job costing, inventory, and class/location reporting
- Skilled in managing third-party integrations
- Documentation and workflow mapping abilities
- Confident communicator who can lead client meetings and explain financials clearly
