Sports Field Supervisor (Part Time)

General Summary:

The Part Time Sports Supervisor role with Hyland Hills Parks & Rec is a position focused on the supervision and scorekeeping of recreational sports programs. This role requires a dependable individual with the ability to present in a professional and friendly manner when interacting with the public, handling conflict, and managing various responsibilities at once. This individual must be comfortable supervising an array of youth and adult sports at various locations.

Responsibilities:

•Ensure safety for all participants including parents, coaches, athletes and spectators
•Enforce policies and procedures for each program and location
•Disseminate program information to patrons; answer questions and helps resolve problems
•Prepare/breakdown facilities for events by setting up/tearing down equipment, opening & closing gates, and checking seating areas for debris/trash
•Handle both emergency and non-emergency situations appropriately
•Demonstrate basic knowledge of equipment use and maintenance, facilities, operations, supplies, and rules of sports and activities for all levels of participants
•Perform all other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

•Minimum Age: 18 Years
•CPR & First Aid training required before first scheduled shift
•Solid knowledge and understanding of multiple sports including basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, baseball, and pickleball
•Can lift a minimum of 50 pounds
•Ability to handle stressful and/or sensitive situation appropriately
•Capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with fellow employees, various community organizations, and the public
•Knowledge of scorekeeping and using a scoreboard for various sports
•Ability to work weekends and late evenings
