THE ROLE:

As our Spend Operations Manager, you’ll own the end-to-end management of company spending—across corporate cards, travel, vendor contracts, and reporting systems. You’ll build simple, scalable workflows that keep spend transparent and aligned with finance, and you’ll lead a small team of contractors and part-time staff to execute day-to-day operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operational Ownership of Ramp: Manage end-to-end operations including credit card programs, spend controls, and policy compliance.

  • Travel and Vendor Coordination: Own travel logistics (airlines, hotels, car rentals) and vendor interactions, negotiating cost-effective contracts and ensuring well-documented processes.

  • Workflow and Systems Management: Oversee tools like Zip/ramp for procurement workflows, simplifying where possible. Ensure alignment between purchasing activity and finance/accounting.

  • Reporting and Dashboards: Build dashboards, monitor spend analytics, and generate reports to give visibility into operational and financial metrics related to these spend programs. Lead quarterly/bi-annual reviews with key vendors to monitor usage.

  • Team Management and Training: Supervise and support part-time staff and contractors, guide onboarding and upskilling, and lead daily stand-ups.

  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and refine procurement and spend workflows to reduce overhead and improve accountability. Coordinate with internal teams to produce and maintain software and hardware spend allocation reports for critical business applications.

  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Coordinate with Finance, Accounting, and Enterprise Technology teams to align operational processes with broader company goals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal and team management capabilities.

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and managing contractors across global time zones.

  • Proficient in spend analysis and basic financial reporting.

  • Willingness to grow into procurement negotiation responsibilities over time.

BONUS

  • Experience managing operations or finance tools (e.g., Ramp, Zip, Netsuite, Tipalti).

  • Familiarity with procurement workflows and vendor management.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

  • Background in finance, procurement, or business operations.

  • Previous experience working with distributed teams.
