The Specialist, People Systems supports the day-to-day delivery of People Systems services, maintaining accurate system configuration, data quality and MI reporting. Working closely with People stakeholders, the role helps to resolve operational issues, supports change activity (including testing and documentation) and contributes to continuous improvement to ensure People Systems meet business needs.
Supports the People Systems delivery engine by providing reliable insights, reporting, tools and system support that enable effective People processes.
Contributes to the optimisation and scalability of People Systems through process and workflow improvements, maintaining documentation, and supporting user engagement and adoption.
What you’ll do
Maintain the configuration and day-to-day administration of core HR processes (e.g., Hire to Retire (HTR), core compensation, and Leave and Absence (LOA)) within at least one core HR system module.
Extract, cleanse and analyse People data (primarily in Excel) to identify trends, respond to stakeholder queries, and support operational decision-making.
Build, refresh and quality-check MI reporting and dashboards using Power BI (or similar tools), ensuring outputs are accurate, timely and insight-led.
Support cross-functional change and improvement activity by completing assigned tasks, preparing test scripts, executing tests, and documenting results for sign-off.
Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify priorities, and translate needs into practical system solutions and process updates.
Troubleshoot system and data issues by investigating root cause, identifying fixes, and escalating where required to meet service levels.
Provide clear updates, guidance, and documentation on system processes, changes, and reporting outputs to technical and non-technical audiences.
Carry out routine data quality checks and reporting controls to maintain data and system integrity, contributing to agreed KPIs.
Manage workload effectively by prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining visibility of cyclical activities and planned roadmap work.
Collaborate with PBPs, Total Rewards, COEs, People Tech/HRIS, Payroll, and Shared Services to support adoption of People Systems solutions and deliver agreed outcomes.
Who You Are:
3-5 years of experience in HRIS or People Systems, with a solid foundation in core HR system administration (Workday or similar) and the Hire-to-Retire lifecycle.
A "Quality-First" Practitioner who takes pride in maintaining high standards for system configuration, data integrity, and routine administration across Core HCM, Compensation, and Absence modules.
Analytical problem-solver with advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Data Cleansing) and a proven ability to extract and analyze workforce data to identify trends.
Emerging Data Storyteller with experience building or maintaining dashboards in Power BI (or similar BI tools) to provide stakeholders with accurate, insight-led reporting.
Detailed Documentation Lead who excels at creating test scripts, executing UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and documenting system processes to ensure smooth project delivery.
Collaborative Troubleshooter who enjoys investigating the root cause of system issues and working cross-functionally with Payroll, Shared Services, and HRBPs to find practical fixes.
Process-Oriented Thinker who looks for ways to simplify manual workflows and improve system adoption through clear user guides and training support.
Effective Task Manager capable of balancing day-to-day tickets and "business-as-usual" tasks with long-term roadmap projects and cyclical HR events.
Clear Communicator who can translate technical system updates into simple instructions for non-technical employees and managers.
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; foundational HRIS certifications are highly regarded.

Compensation
Ancestry values pay transparency and equity. As a signatory of the ParityPledge in Support of Women and the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color, we are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $77,000 - $96,000, with eligibility for bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision. Actual salary will depend on location and experience. We will provide detailed compensation data for a specific location during the recruiting process.
