The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities.
Are you excited about applying innovative optimization and analysis techniques to problems of national importance? If so, consider this exciting position in the Space Enterprise Design and Optimization Department (SEDOD) supporting the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC) and other government customers. In SEDOD, we leverage trade space exploration, optimization, and analysis techniques to solve the nation's hardest problems across the space enterprise, including orbit design, portfolio selection, payload concept design, communications architecting, resiliency analysis, and commercial capability integration. We are looking for a Space Enterprise Force Design Modeling and Simulation Lead to lead modeling and simulation efforts across EED and beyond to proactively assist the government with force designs and architecture optimization to enable a resilient national space enterprise. Work Model
This is a full-time position based in Colorado Springs, CO offering a hybrid work model that combines at least 4 regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow.
What You'll Be Doing

  • Act as an integration leader and spokesperson for the Architecture Optimization Office, coordinating across multiple Aerospace program offices to connect customer requirements with Aerospace capabilities and to identify opportunities for new partnerships
  • Lead analysis teams driving recommendations for research, development, and acquisition decisions for constellations, architectures, and force designs for multiple SSC mission areas in the space domain
  • Coordinate complex technical tasks among customers, managing resources to efficiently staff and execute projects
  • Develop and present timely and technically accurate presentations and reports that clearly communicate analysis results to technical leads, management, and customers
  • Serve as a mentor to new and junior staff, guiding routine analysis and development tasks as part of larger project efforts, and promoting a collaborative environment for professional growth


What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in aerospace, astronautical, or mechanical engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field of science or engineering
  • 6 or more years of relevant and progressive professional or academic experience
  • Significant history of consistent contribution to multiple substantial technical analytical or development projects through their successful fruition
  • History of leading technical teams with various backgrounds delivering technical analyses or development efforts in support of customer-driven projects
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools in support of architecture assessment, analysis of alternatives, constellation design and optimization, orbital analysis, or space warfighting
  • Technical understanding of space-based architectures
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Willing to support occasional travel domestically
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance


How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • A graduate degree in one of the fields of study mentioned above
  • Expertise in Intelligence Community or US Department of Defense (DoD) business practices or space mission portfolios
  • Specific experience with modeling space-based architectures for Missile Warning, Tracking, and Defense (MWTD), Space Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Target Tracking (SRTT), space data networks, PNT, SATCOM, or wargaming
  • Extensive experience producing analyses and communicating results to various sized audiences
  • Prior experience as the lead for matrixed teams with multifaceted skill sets to solve multi-disciplinary challenges


We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
