Solutions Software Engineer - Payments 

Storable is looking for a Solutions-Oriented Software Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems, building high-quality software, and delivering innovative solutions that meet both technical and customer needs. You’ll play a key role in shaping our Payments platform, with a focus on tokenization and migration of tokens, system integrations, and delivering scalable, validated solutions to real-world challenges.

This role goes beyond coding—you’ll be starting with a problem, analyzing root causes, identifying viable solutions, and delivering them with both technical precision and business impact. You’ll work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, gathering resources from across departments, validating your solutions, and continuously improving our payments technology.

What you’ll be doing

  • Problem-to-Solution Execution: Start from a defined problem, strategically evaluate options, and deliver end-to-end solutions—including design, code, testing, and validation.
  • Tokenization & Migration: Lead the design and execution of secure tokenization processes and token migration efforts, ensuring compliance, performance, and scalability.
  • Migration Management & Automation: Lead the management of migration outcomes and establish tools to automate steps, ensuring compliance, performance, and scalability.
  • Collaboration & Resource Gathering: Partner with engineering peers, product managers, operations, and other departments to gather requirements, align priorities, and ensure solution viability.
  • Platform Development: Contribute to the design and development of our payments platform with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Quality Assurance: Write high-quality, well-tested code with sufficient coverage to ensure long-term stability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive process improvements that enhance delivery speed, reliability, and quality.

What you need to bring to the table

  • Technical Expertise:

    • 3+ years of hands-on Node.js backend API development and .NET Core development (total industry experience 3–5 years).
    • Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals; 1+ year of React.js experience preferred.
    • Experience with relational databases (required) and non-relational databases (preferred); able to write semi-complex SQL queries.
  • Understanding of RESTful web services architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Strategic Problem Solving: Ability to assess complex technical issues, determine viable solutions, and execute them effectively.
  • Architecture & Scalability: Exposure to scalable enterprise service design, including monitoring, analytics, and CRUD patterns.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adjust the tech stack and approach based on evolving market and business needs.
  • Self-Management: Ability to work under minimal supervision while delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Development Practices: Agile development experience, plus documentation and guidelines creation based on findings.

What would be nice to bring along

  • Payments industry or payment processing experience.
  • Public cloud experience (AWS), Docker containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD.
  • Familiarity with microservices and asynchronous event-driven architectures.

Experience with caching, asynchronous processing, and parallelization techniques.
