The Role

We’re looking for a Solution Engineer (Strategic Partnerships) to drive impact across Vim’s most important partner relationships. This is a highly cross-functional role that blends client-facing strategy, deep technical understanding, and solution-oriented execution—ideal for a proactive problem-solver with strong product instincts and a consultative mindset.

As a key member of our Partnerships team, you will support go-to-market initiatives, guide technical pre-sales efforts, and serve as a trusted translator between Vim’s product capabilities and our partners' business needs. You’ll work closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to craft enterprise solutions, oversee technical scoping, and ensure successful execution from discovery through deployment.

This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, has a knack for connecting the dots across business, product, and engineering, and can confidently handle conversations from C-suite vision-setting to technical implementation.

What you will do

  • Own technical pre-sales and solutioning efforts with strategic partners, especially those sourced or championed by senior leadership
  • Take promising leads and shape them into structured, actionable solution proposals
  • Map enterprise customer needs to Vim’s platform capabilities, identifying where configuration, custom work, or professional services are needed to deliver value
  • Define success metrics and solution impact, prioritizing long-term success over short-term wins and aligning scope with strategic outcomes
  • Build and deliver technical assets that support the sales cycle, such as architecture diagrams, prototypes, and implementation plans
  • Oversee or directly manage engineering efforts, whether internal or external, to ensure delivery aligns with partner expectations and Vim’s standards
  • Manage solution projects from early discovery through launch, ensuring all moving parts—from product alignment to partner engagement—are progressing in sync
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with customers, from technical stakeholders to business leaders, adapting your style to suit different audiences and decision-makers

Who we are looking for

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in sales engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or related roles, ideally within enterprise SaaS or healthcare technology
  • Strong technical foundation—You understand what can be built using Vim’s existing platform and can identify when to extend functionality using professional services
  • Enterprise solutioning mindset—You know how to define a structured solution from a loosely defined problem, and can drive alignment across functions to make it real
  • Product and business orientation—You care about impact, can prioritize effectively, and think about long-term partner success and value realization
  • Hands-on technical skills—You can prototype, test, and speak the language of engineers while ensuring business goals are met
  • Project management chops—You’re capable of managing yourself and others to deliver on complex, high-value initiatives
  • Excellent communicator—You build trust and credibility in every conversation, and can bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences
