About the Role
Litify is built on the best-in-class Salesforce Platform and we’re seeking to bring a Solution Engineer, Billing Specialist on board to be an integral part of our Go-To-Market team. This individual will be primarily supporting sales efforts in client-facing meetings, calls, and projects, and will develop and lead custom demonstrations of Litify’s time, billing, and accounting solution.

What is a Solution Engineer?

The Solution Engineer, Billing Specialist is responsible for presenting Litify’s time, billing, and accounting offering in a value-driven way to prospects and customers, with the end goal of instilling confidence in the technology and removing objections in the pre-sales effort. To accomplish this, the Solution Engineer must bring firsthand knowledge of firm billing operations and a strong desire to leverage their technical and sales skills, including the ability to solicit business requirements, develop a sales strategy, and configure and effectively demonstrate solutions that address these requirements and provide business value.

Litify is hiring for a candidate with 3–5 years of experience in a law firm billing department to join the Law Firm team within its Solution Engineering organization, reporting to the Director of Solution Engineering.

You Will Be:

  • Supporting the sales team in their ability to position Litify’s value proposition for time, billing, and accounting
  • Conducting discovery sessions with potential Litify clients to understand their billing workflows, fee arrangements, and firm financial operations
  • Building and demonstrating Litify’s time, billing, and accounting solution, powered by Accounting Seed, in a way that aligns with the customer’s needs
  • Owning the time, billing, and accounting demo: building and maintaining the standard demo, setting the bar for how the solution is presented across the sales team, and keeping it current as the product evolves
  • Walking prospects through the full bill cycle, including time entry, pre-bill review, invoicing, payments, collections, and trust accounting
  • Serving as the team’s subject matter expert on law firm billing and enabling fellow Solution Engineers on how to position Accounting Seed
  • Partnering closely with the Product team to share market and customer feedback, co-develop new billing capabilities, and influence the product roadmap
  • Configuring Litify and Accounting Seed for custom demonstrations and enhancing standard demos for use by internal team members
  • Answering the billing and accounting sections of RFPs effectively
  • Ability to travel domestically approximately once per month, including to industry events

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Law Firm Billing and Financial Operations Experience
    • 3–5 years of experience working in a billing department, finance team, or firm operations role at a law firm that bills time
    • Hands-on experience running a bill cycle, from time entry and pre-bill review through invoicing, payment, and collections
    • Working knowledge of billing arrangements such as hourly, flat fee, contingency, and retainers, as well as trust/IOLTA accounting
  • OR a Solution Engineer/Sales Engineer at another with Law Firm Billing Product experience
  • Familiarity with common legal billing concepts such as rates, write-downs, realization, LEDES/e-billing, and client billing guidelines
  • Solid oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve business and technical problems in varied environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with legal billing or practice management systems such as Aderant, Elite, or similar platforms
  • Previous experience as a solution/sales engineer, implementation consultant, or customer-facing role at a legal technology or financial software company
  • Nice to have: Salesforce Platform Experience
    • Experience using, administering, or implementing Salesforce, Accounting Seed, or another Salesforce-native accounting application
