The Software Renewals – Sales Support role is responsible for managing and growing software maintenance renewals within an assigned portfolio of accounts. This position drives contract renewals, identifies expansion opportunities, and supports the execution of strategic account plans. The role also integrates solutions across business lines to ensure overall account success.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Manage software relationships for an assigned list of contracted accounts.
- Provide administrative and strategic support to CIP Sales in executing defined account strategies.
- Prepare product recommendations, quotations, and required sales documentation for equipment orders within centralized, contracted global accounts.
- Drive maintenance renewals, upgrades, add‑on sales, and recommend new solution opportunities.
- Maintain detailed records of all account activity in the sales database; proactively communicate activity, opportunities, and issues with CIP Sales.
- Maintain and update customer‑specific product catalogs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all sales‑related paperwork.
- Manage an assigned account base and achieve revenue targets tied to renewal opportunities.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for software renewal contract inquiries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Previous major account management experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to establish goals and prioritize effectively.
- Proven track record with 5–7 years of relevant experience; 2–5 years in sales preferred.
- Strong understanding of sales methodologies and processes within a matrixed environment serving Fortune 1000 clients.
- Excellent negotiation, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, time‑management capabilities, and self‑motivation.
- Broad business acumen and demonstrated leadership capability.
- Proven success collaborating with diverse teams to develop and execute account strategies.
- Thorough understanding of industry‑related products and services.
- Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate complex technical information as needed.
- Knowledge of up‑selling strategies and how to apply them effectively.
- Ability to support and enable selling strategies across field sales teams.
- Proven ability to build strong cross‑functional relationships that support account objectives.
- Ability to analyze complex data from multiple sources, identify issues, and recommend solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Work is typically performed in an office environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and standard temperature and noise levels.
- Primarily sedentary role with occasional walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting or carrying items under 10 lbs (e.g., files, documents, small parts).
- Requires moderate manual dexterity and regular use of standard office tools (e.g., keyboard, calculator, small hand tools).
