Job Summary:
The Project Manager will lead the execution and delivery of projects within the AssetWorks professional services organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in project management for software implementation projects. The candidate should bring a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, and demonstrate basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures of project management, business analysis and general management.The Project Manager should demonstrate the ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment; good organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; the ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment; the ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously; the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Documents and delivers project status reviews, leads status meetings, and tracks issues and decisions
- Manages project resources assigned to project tasks.
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
- Consults with customers related to project scope, scope changes, and additional services.
- Documents change orders for additional or revised/additional services
- Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
- Provide overall quality assurance for all deliverables
- Provides overall risk management and mitigation.
- Minimizes AssetWorks’ exposure and risk on project.
- Facilitates project scheduling and close out.
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Project Accounting and Financial Management
- Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a monthly basis.
- Manages project budget.
- Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
- Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
- Understands basic revenue models, and cost-to-complete projections and makes decisions accordingly.
- Accurately forecasts revenue and utilization.
Communication
- Facilitates project team and client meetings effectively.
- Holds regular status meetings with client project team.
- Communicates relevant project information to superiors and other departments (Development, QA, Sales, Customer Care) effectively.
- Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
- Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Teamwork
- Consistently acknowledges and appreciates each team member's contributions.
- Effectively utilizes each team member to his/her fullest potential.
Client Management
- Sets and manages client expectations.
- Manages day-to-day client interaction.
- Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties.
- Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. The position requires:
- 3-5 years of project management experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective listening, communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills
- Successful time management and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Team player who works productively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Flexible travel up to 5%
- Knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
