Position Overview:

The Aravo product development team places an emphasis on meaningful contribution by all members in a creative, collaborative, and sustainable environment where opportunities for growth, leadership, and recognition abound. The Engineering Leader will enhance and maintain a highly configurable, multi-tenant, enterprise class, SaaS solution that incorporates cross-organizational collaborative workflows, data integration, and a rich user interface built on a complex data model. This role will work primarily on improving our team’s Developer Experience and implementing solutions that integrate with infrastructure, new and existing services, monitoring systems, and internal tooling to provide a secure, reliable, supportable platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evolve our Engineering teams by creating a culture of change, gathering continuous feedback, and driving efficiency through automation.
• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and supportable services and APIs for a multi-tenant SaaS application.
• Improve Developer Experience by leveraging automation (CI/CD pipelines, IaC, Configuration Management) to provide fast feedback loops and self-service capabilities to our engineers.
• Effectively communicate risk and impact of changes by defining technical requirements through collaboration with stakeholders to understand functional, system, and data requirements.
• Drive sustained improvements in our platforms observability to proactively identify issues, improve system health, and reduce incident resolution time.
• Contribute to architectural discussion and champion best practices for code quality, security, and operational excellence.
• Build, mentor, and support a team of engineers, creating a culture of continuous improvement and innovation that meets business needs.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, proposing and implementing improvements to enhance the SaaS platform.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving customer issues, offering support for debugging and remediating issues.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum practices such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as well as managing project timelines and deliverables effectively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience in related field.
• 12+ years of development experience, 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience building enterprise SaaS Java applications built on top of a spring framework.
• Experience with database modeling and concepts; Oracle experience a plus.
• Adept at designing solutions in public, private, and hybrid infrastructure models.
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including a strong quality focus, and demonstrable success with design reviews, code reviews, and unit testing.
• Leveraging automation tools (CI/CD pipelines, IaC, configuration management) to modernize systems and processes.
• Proficiency in utilizing and integrating with modern observability tools for monitoring system health, analyzing trends, and proactive issue detection in Linux environments.
• History of leading, mentoring and growing effective engineering teams.
• Worked within Agile and Lean software development teams.
