Software Engineer

The Opportunity:  

As an embedded software engineer, you know how to create and maintain crucial pieces of software. You use your knowledge to write and optimize code that creates a bridge between pieces of software, allowing them to communicate. We’re looking for an experienced embedded software engineer like you to develop technology for our clients’ most important mission-forward challenges.  

As a senior embedded software engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll support the development of systems, sites, and tools for our clients. Using the latest tools and technology, you’ll write, test, and edit code in support of the team’s overall results. You’ll expand your skills as you develop and reverse engineer software that supports hardware functionality on a wide range of devices, as well as configure solutions based on the platform being used. You’ll work with other team leaders to troubleshoot and correct operational issues, as well as with cybersecurity specialists to ensure that the software you’re creating is secure.

You Have:

  • Experience with developing containerized applications, including design, authentication, and implementation

  • Experience developing prompts, tools, and agents with LLMs

  • Experience with developing software using cloud technologies

  • Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization

  • Experience with version control tools, including Git

  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

  • HS diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience in software engineering, or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in software engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and IAM

  • Experience with Kubernetes architecture, deployment, management, container orchestration, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting

  • Experience with IaC tools like Helm and Terraform

  • Experience with leveraging MLOps platforms and Machine Learning (ML) CI/CD workflows to manage datasets and model training, deployment, and monitoring

  • Experience developing RESTful APIs in Python or Java

  • Experience with design and implementation, including building, containerizing, and deploying end-to-end automated data and ML pipelines, within a Cloud environment

  • Master's degree in a Technology related field

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer Certification

  • Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification

Clearance: 

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
