Who We Are Seeking
We're looking for an experienced and highly skilled Software Engineer specializing in WordPress development to join our dynamic engineering team. This role requires deep expertise in the WordPress ecosystem, including core development, advanced theme and plugin creation, performance optimization, and robust security practices.
ResponsibilitiesWhat You Will Do
- Develop custom WordPress themes, templates, and plugins aligned with project specifications.
- Implement responsive, accessible, and performant front-end components.
- Collaborate closely with designers and other developers to ensure pixel-perfect execution.
- Translate Figma designs and wireframes into modular, reusable blocks (Gutenberg or ACF or similar).
- Support content migration and integration with third-party APIs.
- Test, debug, and document code to ensure quality and maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews and provide thoughtful feedback to peers.
What You Will Need to be Successful
- Experience: 5+ years of professional web development experience, with a strong WordPress focus.
- WordPress Skills: Proficient in custom theme and plugin development, ACF or Gutenberg blocks, and template hierarchy.
- Front-End: Strong skills in HTML, CSS, modern JavaScript/Typescript, and web animation using CSS and Javascript
- Best Practices: Understanding of accessibility, performance, and responsive design.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and reviewing peer code.
- Tooling: Experience with Git workflows, build tools (Vite, Webpack) and JIRA
Compensation
The hourly range for this role is $70.00 - $90.00 and applies only to jobs performed in Culver City, California. This range represents the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Please note that we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
