How You'll Make an Impact
- Design and implement new software functionality that is testable, performant, and meets business and technical requirements without oversight
- Participate in the design and integration of dependent systems including APIs, clients, data stores, and CI/CD pipelines
- Analyze and evaluate market products to identify strengths and weaknesses, informing
- Spectrum's technology roadmap
- Lead triage for critical production issues, manage hotfixes, resolve system integration challenges, and drive RCA activities for escaped defects
- Collaborate with architecture, testing, operations, database, and data center teams to identify and resolve technical problems
- Enforce approved code patterns and best practices across application domains, visualizing and closing technical debt
- Mentor Software Developers I-V, participate in candidate interviews, and provide technical consulting across internal groups
- Manage multiple interconnected projects or features, deliver technical documentation, cut release branches, and provide deployment artifacts to operations
- Continuously improve application performance, scalability, resilience, and availability while identifying opportunities for optimization

Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
- 4+ years database management systems experience
- 4+ years coding, testing and designing software experience
- 4+ years software development methodology experience
Skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Proficient in environments, docker images, container runtimes, and cloud native app development
- Proficient in one major programming language/tool and progressing towards advanced knowledge of one programming language/tool
- Experienced in coding language and syntax, usage of functions and object-oriented patterns, dependent systems, e.g., up/downstream APIs, clients, data stores
- Proficient in design patterns and software architecture patterns, micro-services, service-oriented architecture, monolith and anti-micro patterns, different platforms, container imaging tools, container run times, cloud applications, micro-services, etc
- Experienced in production operations of developed software, software development methodologies, and applying appropriate software design patterns to the situation
- Ability to work on problems of various scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors, resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways and demonstrated advanced negotiation skills
- Demonstrates discretion and judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solution
- Ability to work with little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments, use time and resources effectively, prioritizing work, establishing and meeting timelines without oversight, and delivering multiple tasks at the same time

Preferred Qualifications
- Develop, modify, enhance, and implement software systems designed to support new or existing business initiatives.
- Use React, Node.js, Docker to develop UI applications and microservices in an AWS cloud native enterprise environment.
- Use web services, including SOAP API, REST API, and GraphQL to integrate with multiple data systems and create APIs that can be consumed by external applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work with relational database systems as well as analyze project initiatives for necessary enhancements to database objects.
- Project Management: Responsible for working with PMO for project planning and task allocation, and overseeing the development process, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Code Quality and Standards: Enforcing coding standards, conducting thorough code reviews, and setting a high bar for code quality are crucial responsibilities.
- Collaboration and Communication: Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, is essential for project success.
- Technical Strategy: Developing and implementing the technical strategy for projects, including the selection of appropriate tools and technologies.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying areas for optimization, implementing best practices, and staying updated on industry trends.
- Identifying and mitigating technical risks and ensuring that the project adheres to security and compliance standards.
- Comfortable interacting directly with clients and stakeholders, providing technical insights and guidance.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Encouraging and facilitating documentation of code, APIs, and technical decisions to promote knowledge sharing within the team.
