JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Software Engineer that will be implementing features and developing a new backend systems from the ground up, known as Forge. Other responsibilities include assistance and upkeep of the CI/CD pipeline, which uses in-house scripts and applications to ensure a streamlined, easy approach to expanded integration testing within the large system of applications that are used within the program. Outside of this responsibility, other ones include things such as GitLab merge request management, assisting other teams with problems/bugs/etc that come from issues from the tools provided by the Tools Team, and handling issues that arise related to the team that are considered high priority, known as PRs.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Backend software engineering - specifically through Java or MATLAB - is most desired for the Tools Team's current needs.
• Experience with upkeeping and adding features onto frameworks and similar systems is also a big plus.
• Other aspects that can be helpful include experience with automation and CI/CD pipelines, as well as experience working in fast paced, collaborative team environments.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
The primary tech skill that we are looking for is direct experience with the Java language - particularly with Swing and the utilization of reflection within the Java language. The IDE used for Java development is typically Eclipse, but VSCode is an alternative for an IDE if desired.
Desired tech skills :
• Bash/Unix, Python, and MATLAB languages for upkeep on other applications/frameworks that currently exist within the tools team.
• Additional tech skills that are highly preferred include: experience with Agile workflows, usage of Jira and Confluence interfaces, knowledge of using Microsoft Teams and Mattermost, and experience with Git and GitLab
.
EDUCATION: Advanced degree and 3+ years experience or bachelors with 5+ years experience or equivalent;
LOCATION: Full Time/ On-Site in Colorado Springs, CO

SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $115,000
