Software Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity:

Booz Allen is looking for a Software Engineer who is driven by purpose and ready to build software that directly supports mission‑critical operations across the space domain. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and enhance the software developed for ground systems and the real‑time capabilities that space missions rely on.

You’ll take ownership of complex engineering challenges — from modernizing legacy components to architecting new mission‑focused capabilities that improve performance, resilience, and operational speed. Your work will shape how data is processed, how systems communicate, and how mission teams execute with precision.

This role is built for someone who thrives on solving hard problems, embraces innovation, and understands the responsibility of building software that must perform flawlessly. If you’re motivated by mission impact, energized by technical depth, and ready to engineer solutions that advance GEOINT and space operations, we want to meet you.

Work with us as we shape systems for the better.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with programming languages, such as Java, Python, Rust, or GO
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux-based systems, containers, and orchestration tools, such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience transitioning legacy applications to a modernized microservice-based architecture
  • Experience writing source code for new applications or generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications
  • Experience working within a Cloud Service Provider (CSP), such as AWS, Azure, or Google
  • Experience using back-end and front-end languages to develop complete solutions
  • Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering, or 15+ years of experience in Software Engineering in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization
  • Experience with C#, C, C++, JavaScript, React, or Node.JS
  • Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
  • Master’s degree

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.
