Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or in a related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Technical Lead, or in a related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Using Java/J2EE development, including object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms; Building, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-level applications using frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate; Using Java design patterns and microservices architecture; Building Kafka Producers, Consumers, and Stream Processing applications; Utilizing Kafka topics, partitions, replication, and message delivery semantics; Monitoring and tuning Kafka performance and ensuring fault tolerance; Using Python development, utilizing Python libraries including Pandas, NumPy, and requests; Working with Python to build AWS Lambda functions; Writing complex SQL queries, including joins, subqueries, and aggregations; Utilizing relational database management systems (RDBMS) including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle; Managing project dependencies using Maven; Creating, configuring, and managing Maven, build scripts and plugins; Working with lifecycle phases and custom goals in Maven to automate the build process; Using core AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and DynamoDB; Using AWS service tools like SQS redrive for re-consumption of messages; Monitoring, scaling, and optimizing applications using AWS CloudWatch, Auto Scaling, and Elastic Load Balancing; Writing unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests using tools including JUnit and PyTest; Working with automated testing frameworks including Karate and Cucumber for web applications; Designing and implementing performance, load, and stress tests for scalable applications; Using Jenkins pipelines to create different steps and process to enrich continuous delivery; Applying concepts of separation of application code and application configuration.
