DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Lead the development and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Terraform modules to streamline the setup, management, and provisioning of AWS cloud environments, ensuring consistency and scalability across Dev, UAT, and Prod; Implementing modular code structure and state management in Terraform to streamline deployment processes; developing regression test, smoke test, system integration, user acceptance testing, and support production environments; Conducting environment refreshes, patches, and upgrades through cross-functional collaboration to resolve configuration and compatibility issues; Setting up and utilizing alerts and monitoring for cloud infrastructure using Log4j, Slf4j, and CloudWatch and solutions including Prometheus, Splunk, Datadog, Grafana and Dynatrace; Designing and Utilizing AWS and system integration services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, SQS, Athena; AWS Glue to build highly available, scalable cloud environments; Automating infrastructure development using CI/CD pipelines and automation tools to support continuous delivery, utilizing Jenkins and Spinnaker; Developing automation scripts using Python libraries; Developing and maintaining applications using Java and J2EE technologies, designing web services including Microservices, RESTful API, SOAP, API Gateway, Swagger, JSON, YML, AVRO, and XML for data interchange and API documentation; Utilizing Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch frameworks for robust applications to deploy the application on Tomcat servers; Implementing ORM solutions with Hibernate and I-Batis; working with Kafka for real-time data processing; Event-Driven Architecture, application architecture and data architecture strategies ensuring scalability with Light Switch shell scripts, integrity, security and alignment with business goals; Conducting unit testing with JUnit and Mockito, automate testing with Cucumber and Karate, and perform performance testing using JMeter and BlazeMeter; Developing UIs with AngularJS, NodeJS, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery, and HTML; Working with databases including PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL, and PL-SQL; Containerizing applications using Kubernetes and Docker, and maintain Helm charts for deployment; Using version control systems including GitHub, Bitbucket and building frameworks in ANT, Maven, Gradle, J-Frog, Jenkins, and Spinnaker for CI/CD; following SDLC practice using Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid SDLC processes while tracking efforts in Jira.
