Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Software Engineer - Level 3/4 to join our team in either Redondo Beach, CA, Aurora, CO, Fairfax, VA, or Morrisville, NC.

You will be part of the Command-and-Control team where you will design, develop, document, refactor, test, and debug applications software for a Ground Segment. You will support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission.

The ideal candidate will have Software development experience, with the ability to digest changes and synthesize them into working designs, generate efficient code according to the specifications, and adapt to changes as necessary that are driven by bugs or specification updates or the customer. The candidate is expected to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment, and to be highly self-motivated; reporting information to leads and the customer. The candidate is expected to handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions and working in a very collaborative and fast-paced environment that continues to grow.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Software Engineer - Level 3: 5 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree; 3 years with Master's degree; 1 year with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • Software Engineer - Level 4: 8 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree; 6 years with Master's degree; 4 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance at the time of application, and the ability and willingness to obtain SCI and CI Poly

  • Experience with C++ and Python

  • Experience with RedHat Linux environment

  • Experience with Software design lifecycle

  • Experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.) and development using Agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Adjudicated FS or CI polygraph

  • STEM degree

  • Experience with the CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)

  • Experience with automated testing

  • Excellent technical writing and team-building skills

  • Experience with Command and Control

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $171,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
