The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Take ownership of the foundational layer that runs a cloud software platform, spanning several hosting environments. Design new capabilities, diagnose hard production problems and strengthen reliability as usage grows, collaborating closely with engineers throughout the organization.
What you'll do
- Own the underlying compute layer that runs across a mix of hosting providers and physical sites.
- Design and build features that improve speed and operational flexibility.
- Diagnose and resolve difficult infrastructure problems in the cloud.
- Raise platform reliability as demand grows quickly.
- Plan and deliver time-sensitive, high-risk upgrades while keeping downtime low.
- Work with engineers across the company to keep the platform steady, predictable and secure.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Strong hands-on expertise running container orchestration clusters, including scaling, networking and diagnosing faults.
- Experience running sizeable production clusters on several cloud vendors or on owned hardware.
- A background designing and operating foundational infrastructure at significant scale.
- Experience reducing startup latency for machines and containers.
- Proficiency in Go for writing bespoke automation and scheduling components.
- A history of leading risky migrations or upgrades with minimal service interruption.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.
- Willingness to be on call.

- Experience building custom automation operators in Rust.

- Base salary: USD 230,000 to 300,000 per year
