Founded in 2015, ROC is headquartered in Denver, CO. with offices in Morgantown, WV., and Grand Rapids., MI. With over 60 full-time employees, ROC licenses software in support of a wide range of applications including financial services, law enforcement, military, and consumer electronics.

We are seeking a software engineer for a unique job opportunity supporting machine learning research scientists as they develop new computer vision algorithms. Please note that this position is strictly data engineering and will not include directly training or building machine learning models. 

In this role you will slowly gain expert knowledge in data development to support the creation of artificial intelligence (computer vision and machine learning) algorithms. This role may at times require travel through the significant majority of work performed in the Denver area.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal communication
  • Excellent organization skills working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Past experience leading small project teams
  • Task oriented, problem solver
  • B.S. or greater; ideally in Computer Science but sufficient experience and training in software engineering will be considered as well for this position
  • 3 to 7 years engineering experience

Other Relevant Skills and Experience:

  • Software Languages: Python, SQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C/C++
  • Experience in large-scale data management using relational DB’s, cloud storage, and local storage
  • Experience with building data pipelines (ETL)
  • Experience with key DevOps principles such as containerization, CI/CD pipelines, observability through logging and alerts, infrastructure-as-code, and automation
  • Understanding of computer vision, statistical pattern recognition, and machine learning algorithms
