About the Role:

The Recipient Experience team makes sending to a recipient anywhere in the world  simple and safe, so your money reaches the right person without errors or delays. As a part of this team, you will be focused on stewarding the experience of the disbursement of funds to recipients around the globe. As an SDE II on a front-end leaning, full-stack team, you will solve technical challenges to improve the recipient experience, partnering with several teams across the company. This role is hybrid.

You Will:

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, high-quality software solutions.
  • Design and implement responsive user interfaces that enhance usability and deliver a seamless user experience for internal and external Remitly Customers.
  • Design and implement solutions for ambiguous and complex problems using multiple full stack technologies (TypeScript, React, Java/Kotlin, Go)
  • Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with team members to maintain code quality and standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of our applications
  • Report to the Engineering Manager of the Money Movement Experience team.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on frontend development for web/native applications.
  • Professional experience with one of the following programming languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, Kotlin, Java, Go.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming concepts
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $112,000-$140,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
