We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining and advancing our developer platforms and tools. This position is being opened to replace a departing engineer and to expand our capacity to support and innovate across the developer ecosystem. The engineer will be responsible for supporting users of Git and GitHub, managing both our existing self-hosted and future cloud GitHub Enterprise environments, and developing software tools that improve the developer experience. In addition, this role will focus on building automated solutions to collect and present actionable metrics, as well as integrating and supporting next-generation AI development tools that are rapidly shaping the future of software engineering.
ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support and guidance for Git and GitHub users across the organization.
Manage and evolve self-hosted and cloud-based GitHub Enterprise systems.
Design and develop internal tools to enhance developer productivity and efficiency.
Automate data collection and create dashboards to present key metrics for engineering teams.
Integrate and support modern AI development IDE tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and agentic coding assistants like Claude Code.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Contribute to cloud infrastructure projects leveraging AWS, GCP, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
Support containerized environments and CI/CD workflows to streamline software delivery.
Strong development skills in Python, with experience in Go (Golang) and other programming languages being a plus.
Deep familiarity with source code management systems, particularly GitHub.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and related automation tools.
Proven experience working with AWS and GCP cloud platforms, with knowledge of CloudFormation and Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
Experience working in containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with AI-powered development environments and tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The compensation for this position ranges from $111,000.00 - $231,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
