Under the supervision of the Sr. Manager, Social Media Marketing, the Social Media Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, execution and evaluation of social media strategy for the National University System. In this position, the Social Media Coordinator will collaborate with organic social team members to execute social media strategy. The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for monitoring all social media activity and responding to direct messages, comments and reviews in a timely manner, including some weekends and holidays.
This position requires attention to detail, to accurately and effectively execute defined social media strategies. Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities is strongly preferred. Knowledge of social media channels and experience developing content calendars is needed to effectively collaborate with the broader team.
Additional responsibilities include collaborating with internal marketing teams to continually develop a library of resources for social media. This position is ideal for a creative individual who is self-motivated with a love for community building that sparks student pride in our student body. Ability to manage and optimize processes as well as some experience in social media marketing is required.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor user engagement and respond to questions and comments in a timely manner
- Monitor and respond to reviews on platforms such as Trust Pilot, Glassdoor, Facebook, Google, Yelp, etc.
- Social media content: creation and execution: (scheduling, boosting, opening project requests, filming and editing videos for Reels/Shorts/TikTok)
- Social media outreach and SWAG coordination
- KPI analysis and reporting
- Copywriting social media posts and responses to audiences on social media
- Internal and external team coordination

Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ year social media experience preferred
Competencies/Technical/Functional Skills:
- Proficient in managing content across major and emerging social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, X, Threads, and Bluesky.
- Strong understanding of platform-specific content needs, including artwork dimensions, file types, and engagement best practices.
- Skilled in social media video and photo editing to create compelling, platform-appropriate content.
- Experienced with scheduling and analytics tools such as Falcon.io, Sprout Social, and Hootsuite.
- Familiar with current social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging channels to inform content strategy.
- Knowledgeable of copyright, mass media, and digital communications laws, with an emphasis on compliance for public-facing content.
- Understands laws and regulations governing institutional social media use and brand representation.
- Bilingual preferred to support inclusive and culturally responsive communication across diverse audiences.
- Able to translate analytics into insights that optimize performance and inform campaign adjustments.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks across platforms.

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.
