Job Description:

Perkins Coie is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a specialization in automation and infrastructure as code. The ideal candidate will oversee automated deployment & administration of on-premises and cloud environments. The Site Reliability Engineer will be part of the SRE team responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our enterprise systems.

SREs work closely with development and operations teams to build, deploy, monitor, and administrate our systems, and to respond to incidents quickly and effectively. Members of the SRE team engineer and support on-premises datacenters as well as cloud environments to ensure end-to-end system availability and scalability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

These essential functions are primary job duties that engineers must be able to perform unassisted or with reasonable accommodation.

  • Design and deploy automated solutions for server workloads and infrastructure
  • Collaborate across different groups such as security, network and application teams to design and implement technology solutions
  • Administrate operational tasks in Azure Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions with cloud services and virtualization platforms
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal operation of infrastructure
  • Respond to incidents and outages as needed
  • Manage and support NetApp storage environments, including NAS administration & other operational tasks
  • Automate low level operational tasks
  • Participate in operational support and on-call rotation shifts for supported systems and products
  • Participate in a culture of knowledge sharing to maintain a well-documented environment

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (Azure is preferred)
  • Experience with PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Bash, VMWare, NetApp
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (SolarWinds, ELK Stack)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies in ServiceNow a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified candidates must have three-plus years of experience in DevOps/SRE and/or system administration.
  • Position is eligible for remote work.
  • Some travel is required.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, accrued paid time off plan starting at 20 days annually, personal medical and parental leave, up to 10 paid holidays, and family care benefits. The listed compensation range reflects the typical pay for this role, though it is rare for new hires to receive an offer at the top of the range. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity. 

San Francisco Bay Area compensation range: $116,860 to $182,930 annually 

Colorado compensation range: $91,560 to $143,320 annually 

Illinois compensation range: $96,630 to $151,260 annually 

Los Angeles compensation range: $106,620 to $166,900 annually 

San Diego compensation range: $105,270 to $164,790 annually 

New York compensation range: $106,240 to $166,300 annually 

Washington state compensation range: $96,580 to $151,180 annually 

Washington, D.C., compensation range: $104,310 to $163,270 annually 

Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records that reside in Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco counties will be considered for employment in accordance with the applicable Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act.
