Job Description

This role oversees and is responsible for prompt and efficient service to our customers, maintains an acceptable degree of profitability for our company and utilizes the work force in a manner within customer specifications.

 The primary responsibilities of this role are:

  • Implementing and coordinating training and safety objectives 
  • Establishing and meeting production and financial goals
  • Scheduling of plant personnel
  • Maintaining clear dialogue with the customer to determine customer needs and services required
  • Developing financial plan that achieves Company and plant goals, developing a Capital Budget 
  • Administering discipline concerning the violation of Company rules and regulations
  • Overseeing plant purchasing, plant/equipment maintenance, and plant/equipment repairs and parts
  • Directing all workforce personnel and functions, maintaining and oversees all daily operations of the plant, and direct and indirect supervision of all plant personnel and staff

Qualifications

To be considered well qualified:

  • Have Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on materials management, production, or engineering
  • Previous responsibilities of purchasing, producing, inventory control, production control, and engineering, as well as shipping, receiving, and warehousing
  • Three to five years' experience managing staff
  • Previous experience with Profit and Loss responsibility
  • Working knowledge of contract administration and safety/environmental compliance

To be considered a top candidate:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university
  • Experience in manufacturing, steel-industry, or other similar environment
  • A proven track record of improving safety performance and goals
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
