As an intern, you’ll work in your assigned area assisting with projects and work overload for IT infrastructure support. This is a fantastic opportunity to get your foot in the door to experience the structure and daily responsibilities of an enterprise IT support role, with networking opportunities across many of our IT teams here at CoorsTek.
Reporting to the IT SIS Manager, you will learn PC imaging, asset management, and weekly report building.
Role & Responsibilities:
As an IT Support Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our manufacturing facilities by imaging and upgrading existing PCs to Windows 11 which will ensure security to maintain a healthy environment for our employees to complete their work. You will also have the opportunity to learn, or utilize existing skills, to manage our asset inventory of PCs, monitors, and all hardware peripherals, and how these tie into the overall procurement process. Combining all the above, weekly reporting is crucial to maintain project pace to achieve previously set deadlines. This workflow is a great steppingstone in understanding the inner workings of large-scale IT support and can be an important steppingstone as you start your career in IT.
Job Requirements Education & Experience:
· Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree Computer Science or Information Systems program.
· Previous internship or engineering/manufacturing experience a plus.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Interest and/or coursework in Computer Science or Information Systems.
· Problem-solving: Interns should be able to identify areas for process improvement and effectively communicate suggested solutions.
· Teamwork: Interns should be able to collaborate effectively with other team members, providing and receiving feedback, and contributing to team goals and objectives.
· Proficiency or experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
· ITSM ticket management experience is preferred.
· Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems
· Technical writing and documentation
