Ricondo is seeking a Simulation Consultant to join our team of talented aviation consultants in our Denver office. Ricondo team members are passionate about working alongside airport management to solve the complex issues facing the aviation industry today. They provide strategic planning services at airports around the world, including operational and physical planning, master planning, environmental reviews, and business advisory services.
We are seeking a self-motivated individual with an intellectual curiosity for technical challenges, strategic and independent thinking, and a desire to work in a team environment across multiple disciplines. Joining our team of aviation consultants provides opportunities for individuals to assist in determining the future of the largest and fastest-growing airports around the world.
As a Simulation Consultant, you will work collaboratively with our diverse team of aviation professionals located in offices across the country on airport planning projects.
Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with fellow employees and senior staff concerning the compilation, interpretation, and presentation of research data for airport planning studies.
  • Learn and run operational simulation modeling software (on the job training will be provided).
  • Collect and analyze data in support of airport planning studies.
  • Prepare draft sections of reports and deliverables based on verbal and written input from others as well individual efforts.
  • Assist in developing, formatting, publishing, and distributing tables, charts, manuals, and maps that deal with existing and proposed airport planning studies.
  • Develop and maintain electronic datasets and file structures.
  • Respond to requests for data and information from internal staff and external clients, organizations, various agencies, and the public.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field that provides a strong foundation for aviation consulting, such as Engineering (with a focus on Transportation and/or Operations Research), Aviation Management (with a focus on Air Traffic Control and/or Airport Operations), Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques and related tools including statistical and spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel) applications.
  • Experience with computer programming languages (e.g., Visual Basic, C++, Python).
  • 0-3 years of increasingly responsible experience in airport planning or related field.
  • Possesses a familiarity with the aviation industry or a desire to learn and grow in the aviation industry.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel to support Ricondo & Associates, Inc.’s, global project portfolio.

Additional Preferred Technical Skills

  • Master’s degree in a field that provides a strong foundation for aviation consulting, such as Engineering (with a focus on Transportation and/or Operations Research), Aviation Management (with a focus on Air Traffic Control and/or Airport Operations), Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices, methods, and principles utilized in strategic planning, infrastructure and facilities planning, and operational research for airports.
  • Familiarity with airfield/airspace/aircraft operations at commercial service airports.
  • Ability to apply advanced professional knowledge of the principles of management, business, marketing and administration in directing, supervising, and coordinating large and complex airport planning projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of analytical techniques and related tools including statistical, spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel), database (Microsoft Access), and simulation (AirTOp, CAST, SIMMOD, TAAM, etc.) applications.
  • Advanced experience applying computer programming languages (e.g., Visual Basic, C++, Python).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with senior executives and staff at client organizations.

The base pay range for this role is $62,000 - $88,000. The base salary range/hourly rate established for a job offer is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, such as experience, education, and skills.
