Freelance | Remote | $500-$1000 per :60-second video depending on complexity, with potential for a monthly retainer
Company OverviewWe're scaling the best YouTube agency in the world.
We've assembled a crazy-talented group of YouTube strategists and creative minds who've collectively generated over 110 billion views and shaped how YouTube works today. Our founder, Ryan Hashemi, spent seven years building Jubilee Media into a 14-million-subscriber, 5-billion-view powerhouse with four Emmy nominations, and trained the person who now runs MrBeast's studio.

Now we're helping the world's biggest brands crack the code on YouTube and make content that people actually want to watch at scale.
We lead YouTube creative and content programming as a strategic channel. We staff and train in-house YouTube teams for clients, hiring video producers, editors, and strategists, and build long-form storytelling systems designed to compound over time. The result: evergreen content that earns millions of views, builds loyal audiences, and drives conversions.
How We HireWe don't screen for pedigree or platform experience. We evaluate individual superpowers, high agency, curiosity, creative instinct, and the ability to do exceptional work.
Our team includes SVP-level Condé Nast alumni working alongside self-taught YouTube strategists. We've got a flat culture and believe a good idea can come from anywhere.
The Role: Short-form Video EditorWe're looking for a short-form video editor who can turn a strong idea into something people can't help but keep watching.
You'll work directly with our founder and Head of Content Marketing to shape the content that represents Snowball publicly. You’ll take our ideas about YouTube, storytelling, creativity, and the work we're doing with some of the world's biggest brands and turn them into sharp, visually distinctive short-form content.
Most videos will start with a script and filmed footage. That's the starting point, not the assignment.
We're looking for someone who can hear a line like, "Here's why most brands are approaching YouTube completely wrong," and immediately start thinking: What should we be seeing? What's the visual proof? Where does this need motion? Could a UI treatment explain this better? Is there a clip, graphic, screenshot, or visual metaphor that makes the idea more impactful?
Sometimes the answer is a custom motion sequence. Sometimes it's the perfect piece of sourced footage. Sometimes it's a clever visual interruption or an unexpected music choice. And sometimes it's knowing that the best edit is the simplest one.
We already have a creative direction and references we believe in. What we're looking for now is an editor with the taste and storytelling instincts to build on them, not someone waiting for a frame-by-frame prescription.
This content has a real job to do. It will shape how people understand Snowball, showcase the caliber of creative thinking we bring to our clients, build our audience, and ultimately help generate new business for the company.
What You'll DoTurn ideas into visual stories. Take founder-led, scripted content and find the visual concept that makes each idea hit harder, feel clearer, and stay memorable.
Build beyond the talking head. Use motion graphics, design, typography, UI, sourced footage, screenshots, imagery, music, and sound to create a world around what's being said.
Make abstract ideas feel obvious. Find smart, visual ways to explain concepts around YouTube, media, business, storytelling, and creativity without making the content feel like a presentation.
Create moments people want to keep watching. Use pacing, visual reveals, pattern changes, sound, and editorial judgment to earn attention rather than relying on endless jump cuts or effects.
Find the visual before we hand it to you. Source the footage, imagery, references, and assets that make the story stronger instead of depending on a fully assembled asset folder.
Know when to push and when to pull back. Not every second needs an effect. You'll make thoughtful decisions about where visual complexity adds something, and where restraint is more powerful.
Help define Snowball's editing language. We're building this content engine now, which means you'll have the opportunity to help establish the visual conventions, recurring treatments, and creative ideas we continue using as we scale.
Bring something to the table. We want editors who see opportunities we didn't see, pitch better solutions, and make the work stronger through the edit.
Collaborate directly with the people shaping the brand. You'll work closely with our founder and Head of Content Marketing, incorporating feedback quickly while still bringing your own creative perspective.
We're looking for someone who's obsessed with the question: What’s the most effective way to bring this idea to life?
You probably have:
A portfolio that makes it clear you can do more than clean cuts, captions, and punch-ins
A strong instinct for visual storytelling. You can take a sentence, concept, or story beat and imagine how it should come alive on screen
Excellent motion graphics and design skills, with the ability to create visual treatments from scratch rather than work from finished assets
A strong sense of retention, pacing, rhythm, music, sound, and how all of those pieces work together to hold attention
Experience sourcing footage, images, screenshots, and other materials that make an edit richer
Good design taste and the ability to make information feel visually clear without overcomplicating it
The range to move between highly designed moments and simple, confident editing
The ability to understand an established reference or creative direction without simply copying it
Strong creative problem-solving instincts when the obvious edit isn't the best edit
Comfortable sharing ideas, receiving direct feedback, and working through multiple versions in pursuit of a better piece
The reliability and communication skills to work independently within a fast-moving remote team
Experience with After Effects or similar motion/design tools strongly preferred
Work hard, learn harder
Be effectively proactive
Overdeliver for clients
Be kind by being clear
