Monitor inbound and outbound shipments across modes, manage exception alerts, update Transportation Management Systems with accurate ETAs, and communicate with carriers, drivers, and 3PL partners to resolve transit issues and maximize on-time delivery.
We are looking for a vigilant, data-driven Shipment Tracking Specialist to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be the primary eyes and ears of our supply chain, actively monitoring all active shipments from point of origin to final delivery. You will utilize tracking software to identify delays, communicate updates to stakeholders, and rapidly troubleshoot transit issues. Your main goal is to maximize transparency and maintain a high on-time delivery rate.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Active Freight: Track real-time movement of inbound and outbound shipments across various modes (truckload, LTL, ocean, air).
- Manage Exception Alerts: Identify transit exceptions, weather delays, or mechanical breakdowns and immediately initiate backup plans.
- Update Logistics Systems: Manually update or audit Transportation Management Systems (TMS) with accurate estimated times of arrival (ETAs).
- Carrier Communication: Maintain continuous contact with drivers, dispatchers, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners for status updates.
