Job Summary
Aurex is seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to design, develop, and implement complex technical solutions across the ServiceNow platform. This position will serve as a primary technical subject matter expert, translating business and functional requirements into scalable, efficient, and secure workflows, applications, and integrations.
The Senior ServiceNow Developer will play a key role in maintaining the overall health and architectural integrity of the platform while establishing development best practices, managing advanced integrations, and mentoring junior developers and administrators. This role will work within an Agile environment and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver secure, high-quality ServiceNow solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Solution Design & Advanced Development
- Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications and modules, including ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, and CSM.
- Develop advanced ServiceNow solutions using JavaScript, GlideRecord, GlideSystem, Business Rules, Client Scripts, and Script Includes.
- Develop and enhance Service Portals using HTML, CSS, AngularJS, and Bootstrap.
- Translate business concepts and functional requirements into scalable technical designs and implementation plans.
- Troubleshoot complex platform and application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement performance optimizations.
System Integration & Architecture
- Architect and implement secure integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and Integration Hub.
- Maintain data integrity and appropriate data mapping across integrations while optimizing system performance.
- Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve platform scalability and maintainability.
- Assist in defining and maintaining the long-term technical and architectural roadmap for the ServiceNow platform.
Code Quality & Mentorship
- Conduct code reviews for peer and junior developers to ensure adherence to ServiceNow development best practices, security requirements, and internal standards.
- Establish and reinforce coding standards and development best practices across the platform.
- Mentor junior developers and administrators, promoting continuous technical development and high-quality delivery.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex ServiceNow development and integration challenges.
Change Governance & Deployment
- Participate in the Configuration Control Board (CCB) as a technical Subject Matter Expert to assess the feasibility, risk, and technical impact of proposed changes.
- Manage complex deployments using Update Sets, CI/CD pipelines, and the ServiceNow Application Repository.
- Support controlled promotion of changes from development and test environments through Production.
- Ensure development activities comply with established change governance, security, compliance, and architectural standards.
Technical Documentation & Enablement
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, Technical Design Documents (TDDs), and system configuration documentation.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for deployments, coding standards, and platform maintenance.
- Clearly communicate technical designs, platform capabilities, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow development, configuration, and administration.
- Advanced proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AngularJS, and ServiceNow scripting APIs.
- Strong experience designing, building, and managing complex REST and SOAP API integrations.
- Experience developing and supporting solutions across ServiceNow applications and modules.
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies with experience working in sprint-based development and delivery environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers and administrators.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification in one or more relevant modules, such as ITSM, ITOM, or HRSD.
- Experience with the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) and automated testing pipelines.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and a strong foundational understanding of IT Service Management principles.
- ITIL v4 certification.
- Familiarity with DoD Special Access Programs (SAPs).

How You Will Be Rewarded
The salary range for this role is $148,000 - $195,000 annually. We offer a comprehensive total rewards approach to compensation, providing incentives and benefits that extend far beyond the base salary. Compensation is determined by the candidate’s work experience, education, training, and relevant skills.
