Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated ServiceNow Discovery Analyst with a strong focus on CMDB and Discovery to support the implementation, enhancement, and operational stability of our Configuration Management Database and related discovery/integration processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience configuring ServiceNow Discovery, managing CI data, and aligning with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) to ensure accurate, trusted, and actionable data within the platform.

This role will work closely with ServiceNow architects, infrastructure teams, and application owners to ensure comprehensive and reliable visibility into IT assets and services.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow Discovery, MID Servers, and credential management
  • Manage and optimize CMDB class structures, CI relationships, and reconciliation rules
  • Ensure CMDB data quality, completeness, and compliance with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
  • Troubleshoot discovery errors and CI population issues using logs, probes, sensors, and patterns
  • Integrate with external data sources using Integration Hub, REST/SOAP APIs, or import sets to enrich CI data
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define discovery schedules, scopes, and CI attributes relevant to business needs
  • Assist with Service Mapping and infrastructure dependency modeling as needed
  • Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and service lifecycle management processes
  • Support CMDB-related KPIs and dashboard development
  • Contribute to platform upgrades, health monitoring, and lifecycle support of Discovery components


Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including CMDB and Discovery
  • Experience deploying and managing MID Servers, credentials, and discovery probes/patterns
  • Strong understanding of CMDB data model, CSDM framework, and CI lifecycle management
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting: Business Rules, Script Includes, and Glide APIs
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, infrastructure components, and virtualization technologies
  • Experience with troubleshooting discovery issues, logs, and CI reconciliation
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills

 


Preferred Qualifications:
  • ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB certifications
  • Experience with Service Mapping, Event Management, or ITOM Visibility
  • Familiarity with data normalization, transformation maps, and reconciliation processes
  • Knowledge of asset lifecycle and ITAM integration points
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and third-party integration platforms
