Where we work

This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in either our Denver, CO or Austin, TX  office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

About this role 

As an SEO Data Analyst on the SEO team, you will play a foundational role in analyzing organic search performance, identifying key trends and opportunities, and providing data-driven insights to enhance Udemy’s SEO strategies. This position is crucial for building business cases, supporting technical SEO initiatives, and collaborating with Product, Engineering, Analytics and Marketing teams to ensure content and site optimizations lead to tangible business growth. You will contribute directly to shaping the future direction of SEO by turning complex data into clear, compelling narratives for various stakeholders across the company.

What you’ll be doing

  • Conduct in-depth SEO data analysis: Extract insights from large datasets and company data pools to identify trends and areas for improvement in organic traffic and performance.

  • Develop and automate comprehensive reporting: Compile metrics from multiple sources for monthly and quarterly reporting covering revenue, conversions, core web vitals, LLM referrals, and the competitive landscape. Develop and manage performance dashboards using tools such as Clarisights, SQL, Excel, Google Sheets, BrightEdge, Crux, OnCrawl, Kai, and Tableau. 

  • Drive data-backed recommendations and presentations: Translate complex data analysis into actionable insights and compelling presentations for internal teams and executive leadership, ensuring understanding and buy-in across the board.

  • Manage SEO tools and monitor performance: Create and maintain technical crawls using OnCrawl, Google Search Console (GSC) , Crux, and other SEO tools, generate reports to ensure technical SEO requirements across surfaces are being met, as well as own the administration, onboarding, and upkeep of BrightEdge, Kai, and other SEO tools. 

  • Support strategic SEO projects: Manage and execute ad-hoc reports and analysis projects, execute complex keyword research and traffic analysis, and support efforts to drive forward new content initiatives, ensuring timely and accurate data analysis.

What you’ll have

  • At least 3 years of experience in data analysis, SEO reporting, or a related field, with a focus on extracting and analyzing large data sets at the enterprise level. 

  • Experience with SEO platforms and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, BrightEdge, OnCrawl, Clarisights, Kai, Tableau, Excel, Crux, SQL, and Google Sheets.

  • Understanding of technical SEO auditing principles and ability to monitor and report out on critical SEO metrics such as core web vitals and other site performance metrics.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, concise reports and presentations for diverse audiences.

  • Experience working collaboratively with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to implement SEO recommendations.

  • A proactive and organized approach to managing multiple project timelines and evolving data needs.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and easily multi-task work across key quarterly initiatives and day-to-day, ad-hoc requests.

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for equity.
