We’re now scaling our footprint across India, and SEO is a core growth lever—especially technical and programmatic SEO to ensure millions of city-specific content pieces, events, and experiences are discoverable on search.

Role Overview

We’re hiring a Growth Marketing Manager who lives and breathes structured data, schema markup, sitemaps, crawl budgets, indexing logic, and programmatic SEO frameworks. Your primary mission: Turn Cityscope into the best-indexed, most discoverable local content platform in India.

You will work closely with our product, engineering, and content teams to ensure our site architecture, content tagging, and data frameworks are optimized for search across thousands of dynamic city-specific URLs and topic clusters.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical SEO (Core)

  • Build and manage scalable programmatic SEO architecture for city pages, topic hubs, events, creator profiles, services, and guides.

  • Create and manage dynamic XML sitemaps, keeping them optimized for Google Search Console.

  • Set up and monitor schema markup (JSON-LD) for events, articles, FAQs, businesses, creators, and experiences.

  • Work with devs to improve core web vitals, page speed, mobile performance, and structured metadata.

  • Audit crawl ability and indexing across all regions and properties using Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, or similar tools.

  • Design and manage canonical tagging, pagination logic, robots.txt, hreflang (if needed), and redirection plans.

Programmatic SEO

  • Develop a keyword clustering and taxonomy model that scales for hundreds of cities and verticals (e.g., “Best Cafes in Jaipur”, “Weekend Events in Udaipur”, “Top Yoga Classes in Jodhpur”).

  • Set up automated content pages powered by the Cityscope CMS and dynamic frontend.

  • Collaborate with backend team to structure search-friendly data models for experiences, listings, and user-generated content.

  • Run split tests and experiments on different templates, meta tags, titles, and page structures to improve CTR and rankings.

Monitoring, Tools & Reporting

  • Track SEO health and performance using GSC, GA4, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and Looker Studio.

  • Own dashboards for organic traffic, indexed pages, ranking positions, and SERP features.

  • Monitor for crawl errors, soft 404s, duplicate content, thin content, and broken links.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with content and city teams to identify opportunities for city-specific campaigns and seasonal topic targeting.

  • Collaborate with design, dev, and product teams to build SEO-friendly templates and modules.

  • Provide SEO onboarding and training for internal content creators and editors.

What You’ll NeedMust-Haves

  • 3–6 years of experience in technical SEO, preferably in a content-heavy or platform environment.

  • Deep understanding of Google’s algorithm, crawling/indexing behavior, and search console.

  • Hands-on experience with sitemaps, schema, log file analysis, robots.txt, and server-level optimization.

  • Proven experience in programmatic SEO—from concept to implementation.

  • Ability to collaborate with engineers, data teams, and product managers.

  • Experience with large-scale SEO architecture and content databases.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Headless CMS, React/Next.js frameworks, or JAMstack sites.

  • Knowledge of local SEO, map pack optimization, and event discovery indexing.

  • Familiarity with AI/LLM-powered content structuring, embeddings, and search optimization.

  • Experience working with Indian city or regional content is a huge plus.

Requirements:

  • Proven SEO experience with measurable results

  • Excellent English writing skills

  • Proficiency in tools: Semrush, Ahrefs, ScreamingFrog, etc.

  • Marketing/sales/technology background preferred

What You Can Expect

  • Ownership of Cityscope’s entire SEO stack—from crawl to conversions.

  • A front-row seat in building one of India’s most important city-centric media and commerce platforms.

  • A fast-moving, highly creative, and collaborative team environment.

  • The chance to scale impact nationally across multiple Indian cities and eventually globally.

  • Constant experimentation, access to AI tools, and support for professional development.
