Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced SEO and Content Marketing Strategist to join our team. This contract role requires a dual focus on developing and executing advanced SEO strategies while supporting content marketing initiatives for B2B and enterprise clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SEO best practices, be highly organized, self-directed, and capable of managing complex SEO projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Strategy & Development:
    • Work closely with the content team to align SEO objectives with content strategy, ensuring that content is optimized for both search engines and user experience.
    • Develop and execute content strategies for websites, landing pages, and other digital assets, focusing on SEO-driven content that aligns with client goals.
    • Utilize Voice of Customer (VoC) insights and keyword research to inform content creation, ensuring that messaging resonates with target personas.
    • Conduct content audits to identify gaps and opportunities, recommending improvements to boost organic search visibility.
    • Optimize existing content for SEO, ensuring that all digital assets adhere to the latest SEO guidelines and best practices.
  • SEO Strategy & Execution:
    • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive SEO strategies tailored to the specific needs of B2B clients, with an emphasis on increasing organic traffic and improving search engine rankings.
    • Perform in-depth keyword research, focusing on high-intent keywords that drive qualified traffic and conversions.
    • Conduct technical SEO audits, identifying and resolving issues related to site architecture, crawlability, and indexing.
    • Optimize on-page elements, including meta tags, headers, content, and internal linking structures, to enhance SEO performance.
    • Collaborate with the development team to ensure that SEO best practices are followed during website updates and redesigns.
    • Drive off-page SEO strategies, including link building, outreach, and digital PR, to enhance domain authority and backlink profiles.
    • Analyze competitors' SEO strategies to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Client Management & Reporting:
    • Lead client calls, presenting SEO performance reports, discussing strategic initiatives, and managing expectations effectively.
    • Prepare and deliver detailed SEO reports, including analysis of traffic, rankings, conversions, and other key metrics.
    • Provide clients with actionable insights and recommendations based on data-driven analysis, helping them achieve their digital marketing objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement & Collaboration:
    • Stay updated on the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry developments, continuously refining strategies to maintain and improve performance.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including web developers, designers, and content creators, to deliver cohesive and impactful digital marketing campaigns.
    • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and team development by staying abreast of emerging SEO tools and techniques.

Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in SEO, with a strong focus on B2B campaigns.
  • Proven experience in content strategy development, particularly for websites, landing pages, and digital marketing assets.
  • Deep understanding of SEO principles, including keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and link building.
  • Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, and other related platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to lead client calls and manage expectations effectively.
  • Experience in the B2B, SaaS, or tech industry.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a remote environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience with content management systems and project management software (e.g., Asana).

Major Pluses:

  • Previous experience at a digital marketing agency.
  • Proven track record with case studies or a personal portfolio of successful SEO and content strategy work.
  • Experience with WordPress development, marketing automation, and CRMs.
  • Knowledge of cross-domain strategies (CRO, UI/UX, Paid Media, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and time-tracking software.
  • Familiarity with GIF-based communication (we love a good GIF!).
