Position & Purpose Summary

The Senior Vice President (SVP), Insights & Advisory Services, is an integral leadership and client-facing role on AVIA’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT). The SVP is responsible for continuing to build our nationally recognized Centers of Excellence and will serve as a visible and visionary industry thought leader on digital Consumerism, Operational Transformation, and Care Transformation in healthcare. They will also serve as a sounding board for Insights & Advisory VP and other leaders, and maintain coordination with other areas of the AVIA organization. 

The SVP, Insights & Advisory Services will be an experienced healthcare executive with a demonstrated history serving as an advisor in the hospital & health care industry; they will leverage their holistic view of the healthcare industry, background in creating value for clients, and deep knowledge of the hospital and health system ecosystem to drive value with our Members at AVIA. They will also assure that AVIA Member health systems are achieving the greatest value from their AVIA membership and the adoption of digital solutions. This role is a senior leader who is accountable for the performance and results of annual growth and operational performance targets; they will be expected to anticipate market demands by successfully positioning AVIA to meet member needs and cultivating strategic relationships and partnerships to drive new Member growth opportunities.

  • We help healthcare organizations transform across digital and help them attain impact across consumer/patient experience, provider and staff satisfaction, improve outcomes, and attain operational excellence.
  • We help them build Innovation Capacity – the ability to govern and manage their own work better, implement technology-enabled capabilities, and operate digital assets--leading to a more automated delivery system, faster.
  • We support successful  implementations (the hardest part of making digital actually work), through the power of the Network by curating best practices, facilitating user groups, providing tools to align stakeholders, and benchmarking results.
  • We deliver our work on a proprietary platform that’s purpose-built for innovation teams to build and manage their enterprise-wide digital portfolios.
  • We cross-pollinate, sharing learnings and outcomes among Members across the Network.

Your Zone of Genius will be…

  • Driving exceptional revenue and growth across multiple verticals with a focus on metrics and client service, while leveraging AVIA intellectual property and key analytics
  • Driven by market feedback, leading the refinement, development and deploying of new advisory and membership products and services
  • Aligning with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to support strategic planning, organizational planning and transformation
  • Collaborating with the Chief Insights Officer to:
  • *Operationalize the insights development agenda and assure appropriate allocation of resources across the practice in support of the insights agenda
    *Achieve consensus on whether or not to accept requested projects or insights research outside of current priorities
  • Collaborating with the Chief Growth Officer to support business development efforts, including current member expansion and renewal, non-member consulting, membership, and AVIA Nexus
  • Collaborating with the ELT to ensure that AVIA strategic plans and goals align with organizational priorities and monitor/measure performance
  • Possessing an innate ability to solve complex problems and establish credibility in the digital health ecosystem
  • Possessing a deep understanding and perspective on the ever-changing healthcare and digital landscapes, and its impact on hospital operations
  • Being a recognized transformation & thought leader to executives and senior leaders at health systems and serving where applicable as engagement executive on key client projects
  • Developing and maintaining deep relationships within Member health systems
  • Having a track record of successful mentoring and developing a team of high performers to tap their potential, support career growth and maintain a high level of engagement across verticals 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s required, MBA or master's strongly preferred 
  • Exceptional background in hospital/health system leadership and/or health system consulting, with 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Operational leadership experience within a small to mid-size consultancy, or other relevant professional services, and familiarity with consulting KPIs; will be accountable for such metrics as:
  • *Practice total revenue
    *Project and practice margin
    *Practice utilization and productivity
    *Practice insights production allocation
  • Member retention and Member expansion
  • Proven success in generating revenue and driving growth for a professional services or innovative services business across multiple verticals, both through current client expansion and new account development
  • Ability to effectively pivot between strategic development and tactical deployment
  • Passion for and commitment to the development of market leading insights
  • Documented track record of operational and financial management of at least $10 million
  • Demonstrated experience executing healthcare consulting sales with contract values in the six-figure to low seven-figure range
  • Proven leadership experience in Strategy, Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Business Development in healthcare
  • Understanding of and experience overseeing project/portfolio management office/function
  • Successful past experience managing complex change initiatives in a healthcare consulting environment 
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strategic relationships with senior-level decision makers in hospitals and health systems
  • Exceptional experience managing and building teams across multiple verticals
  • Must possess outstanding leadership and mentoring skills, with the experience and passion in building, uniting and developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to represent multiple  stakeholders
  • Exceptional critical thinking, judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment that requires adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, intrinsic motivation and intellectual curiosity
  • Willingness to travel as needed
